Cont: Brilliant Light Power Going To Market - Free Energy Generator Part 3

Status
Not open for further replies.
This article on the official site has this to say:

Concentrator photovoltaic electric conversion systems and submersion of the SunCell® in a water bath are in progress to produce electricity and thermal power, respectively.

Firstly, the video linked to demonstrate this is the same video I posted a couple of days ago, in which this device can be seen to glow red. Are we to understand that this is the light that the "concentrator photovoltaic electric conversion systems" are going to be harnessing? Wasn't the light supposed to be magnitudes of order brighter than the sun? Perhaps the fact that it's now not even white hot explains why they have to be concentrator cells. Or are the photovoltaic cells supposed to operate inside this device?

Secondly, isn't "thermal power" generation just using steam to generate electricity? In other words, why is that listed as something different to generating electricity? Or is he implying that they're intending to use the water bath to transfer the heat elsewhere, where it will be put to use as heat? Perhaps as part of a series of radiators, as people have in their homes.

The concentrator photovoltaic application is here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nqBPc4HL64
As you can see the plasma itself is beyond white hot and much brighter than sunlight on the earth. The white-violet light is shining through a transparent window at the top and then striking a concentrator photovoltaic cell above it.
It's a bit confusing because previously Mills had indeed envisioned glowing white hot tungsten or carbon cell wall surfaces, with concentrator photovoltaic cells all around it. That I think is off the table. It's too problematic and a very different ballgame than heating a thin tungsten filament to white hot.

The "thermal power" refers to heat generation for direct heat applications, at least initially. So the red hot glowing sphere would be heating water. In time when the heat output is increased, then heat to electricity methods (steam turbines, etc) would be used.

Interesting.

My hilite.

Sorry, no I can't see that.

What is the basis for your claims ("beyond white hot" and "much brighter than sunlight on the earth")?

Specifically, what information do you have access to (and directly relevant), in addition to the YTvid, that we do not, information which could establish the validity of your claims?

I think a daily countdown is warranted. So I'm starting one.

Some time ago markie promised committed hinted that February, 2019 would see BLP ship five or more working prototype hydrino-based generators to independent labs for testing (OK, markie was a tad less specific than this, which seems out of character given how assured he has come across on things like hydrinos being dark matter).

With some leeway, precision-wise, that means we have to wait just 40 to 70 days. Which I'll write as 40 (70).
Out of interest, does anyone know what the day count would be if we used Mills' first estimate of when he would produce his first working prototype? I'm guessing we'd be at minus several thousand days on that.

Just for the record, he's actually claimed to have a working prototype at times. The OP in the original thread contains such a claim.

No good. Brett Holverstott is no more credible than you are. Got anything real? MIT doesn't seem to admit to Mills being a student.

Did you access the student class lists of the time? No. Then you have no basis to say that "MIT doesn't seem to admit to Mills being a student."

If you're looking at alumni lists, Mills won't be there. That is because Mills attended only one year of MIT as a graduate of another institution, while at least two full years are required of imported graduates in order to be considered an alumnus. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Massachusetts_Institute_of_Technology_alumni

As Mills explains in a footnote at the bottom of page 59 (2018 edition), the mass of the orbitsphere displaces spacetime so that the orbitsphere, although having zero thickness, has a non zero gravitational thickness. Schwartzchild metric and all that.

Yeah, Mills makes up all sorts of imaginary things when convenient, but (1) you didn't answer the question, and (2) it wasn't for you anyway.

Worse than that jsfisher, not just made up but trivially demonstrably false. First the Schwartzchild metric is for an uncharged mass with no angular momentum. For a charged mass with angular momentum you'd want to use the Kerr–Newman metric.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kerr–Newman_metric

However, even granted that metric or whatever someone wishes to simply call a "gravitational thickness". It is irrelevant unless the model used distributes the mass over that "thickness". So the orbitsphere becomes 3d not 2d. Technically 3 + 1 d for a space time metric but at least 3d spatially.

All this nonsensical galish-galop does is demonstrate both markie and Mills don't have a clue what they are talking about "and all that".

You were the one making the unsupported statement about Mills. Still cannot support it, can you?

One year is two terms. Thank you for the help in establishing Mills MIT lie.

To be fair, markie did say - some time ago IIRC - that his grasp of the relevant physics and mathematics is, um, not quite up to that of a PhD student (shall I say). And the content of his relevant posts seems consistent with this.

optiongeek and UncertainH seem to have a somewhat better grasp, but my impression is that for both it's also not up to what you'd expect of a PhD in physics (say).

All three, however, seem convinced that Mills' BBofBB contains rock-solid, Feynman+Einstein-level physics (and mathematics). Yet their poor grasp is reflected in their posts: lots of words about why what Mills wrote is (or seems) spot-on, but few if any formulae, equations, etc.

It's thus up to folk like you, W.D.Clinger, RC, hced2, et al. to set the record straight.

Yes, long-time readers of this thread (and its predecessor) are pretty well-aware of just what a mess (barbecue, dogs breakfast, etc) so many of Mills' claims are. :p

Its all about markie trying to make others think that their is a 'possibility' that Mills isn't pretending.

Markie, when dealing with a known liar, it is wise to reverse the burden of proof. If Mills was a student at MIT, or not, is part of his credibility as a researcher. Therefore it is part of his sales pitch, and should not be taken for granted on his words alone. Unless proven the claim should be ignored. If proven to be false on the other hand....

Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. - Wise words when dealing with people who wants your and others money.

The concentrator photovoltaic application is here:

That's a different device to the one in the photo and video on the page that that text is on.

As you can see the plasma itself is beyond white hot and much brighter than sunlight on the earth.

The light in that video isn't even close to being brighter than sunlight. And "brighter than sunlight on the earth" is a very different statement than "brighter than the sun".

The "thermal power" refers to heat generation for direct heat applications, at least initially.

Like what?

So the red hot glowing sphere would be heating water.

For what purpose?

I thought I'd responded here but it seems not to show. If it's a duplicate, apologies....

Back long ago, when I was an undergraduate at a college that also had a very well respected graduate program, one of the perks was that I could audit, and if I wanted, take for credit, any graduate lecture courses I could fit in. I did so, and can claim rightly that took classes with a couple of truly world famous philosophers and even got a couple of graduate course credits. But I'd be a pompous fool to claim I was a graduate student. I was anything but. Although I passed the courses I took for credit, I would have had no penalty at all if I'd flunked them.

If Mills wasn't enrolled at MIT it really doesn't matter whether or not he took courses there. Even if he did well, and can boast of his prowess there, it does not mean he "went to MIT" in the proper sense of the word.

Just double-checking on what Mills' actual claim was: https://brilliantlightpower.com/suncell/

The compact power is manifest as thousands of Sun equivalents that can be directly converted to electrical output using commercial concentrator photovoltaic cells.

Is it really your contention, markie, that Mills has pointed a normal video camera at something that's thousands of times brighter than the sun, and that people are looking at this without wearing any eye protection at all?

Time for a reminder that concentrator photovoltaic cells are not cells designed to be exposed to concentrated sunlight. They're used the same way as regular solar photovoltaic cells, to convert ambient sunlight to electricity. The concentrator cells are doing their own concentrating. It's only a different way of designing and building a solar cell.

So, to markie I have to ask: what is Mills's interest in destroying concentrator photovoltaic cells by subjecting them to radiations "much brighter than sunlight on earth"?

Well, we've been over this before as they wouldn't be using the concentrator portion of the cells they would just be using multi-junction solar cells perhaps with some heat sinks. Which may themselves just be destroyed by radiations "much brighter than sunlight on earth". This is the type of thing that happens when you have people more interested in just buzzwords and catchphrases then either the actual technology or the underlying principles.

Ok, let's give the idea of a type of solar cell actually holding up to long term high level light.

That is the 2nd part of the plan. The more important is the hydrino fusion ball in a contained field. Without that there is no light to absorb.

Has anyone ever been successful in creating a controlled and long term sustainable fusion be it in a impossible hollow sphere or any other form?
One that could run on little fuel input for months on end and not be a danger to nearby humans by melting through its containment at all?
