It's very likely that Iran will seek to set up paramilitary proxy forces along the Israeli-Syrian border, comparable to Hezbollah in Lebanon. Turkey doesn't like Israel very much and Israels attempts to have Russia rein in and restrain Iran has gone nowhere. Although their interests do not align and they are likely to come into conflict it's highly questionable whether Russia or Turkey would do anything significant to restrain Iranian aggression against Israel.

Simply cutting and running like this is, if anything, making further armed conflicts more likely. The Iraq war gave Iran a client state and now it's getting another one seeing as Syria is almost totally dependent on Iran (and to a lesser degree Russia).

The aprove/disapprove poll numbers are astounding. Then there is the normalisation in the approach of some media reports.

This is incredible stuff going on and the country will need to look at many fundamentals. Moral/ethical values and education would be a start. The right have replaced any sense of New Testament morals with greed and white-centred self interest.

Not New Testament morals: just decent human morality and ethics. FOX has done more than its fair share of normalizing the idiot in the WH.

The State Department has lashed out at Brett McGurk, who resigned in protest at President Trump's Syria pull-out, accusing him of failing in his role as top U.S. diplomat for the coalition to defeat the Islamic State and lying about the timing of and reasons for his departure.

A senior State Department official derided McGurk, who was appointed by President Obama and has been in place since 2015, as ineffective. “The conflict in Syria has been ongoing for six years,” the senior State Department official said sarcastically. "Good job, Brett.”

Another source close to the circumstances surrounding McGurk’s resignation bitterly accused him of twisting the truth to increase the amount he could earn in speaking fees despite being treated “graciously” by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

So, Mnuchin apparently was calling big banks to reassure them that there is not a shortage of liquidity and this has now freaked people out and there is talk of a run on the banks.
 
We shouldn't criticize Trump for following the tenets of his faith. The airing of grievances is integral to Festivus.
