Shut the lawyers in another room : always a good policy. Here we can discuss the political implications of Trump's enthusiasm, and his airy call on "Mitch and Nancy" to come up with a plan. (Trump, of course, said he already had a plan when he was running). Nancy will be happy with that. Mitch will wish Trump wouldn't poke a stick into that wasp-nest.
Hope he's explained how complicated health care legislation is so it doesn't come as a surprise to them.

Old Donnie Boy sure doesn't want to mess up his golf-a-thon over the holidays. He had his best buddy, Kelly, in on Thu/Fri to discuss what to do to spin a shut down, and in the process found himself and ass-kisser he really liked and offered him the exact deal that he wouldn't give Sainted Nick!

Mulvaney, who was left with a bargaining chip because Trump screwed the pooch big time and because in-party enemies were loving the fiasco, wound up offering to let Mulvaney not only sign on as a temporary position but also may let him hold onto his position at the OMB.

Are you tired of the winning, yet? He could've had the heir apparent if he'd offered him the same deal but when he thought Ayers smelled like he wanted the job he decided to bring some of the negotiating ability to the table and blew it. Now he's got "Who??!!" as his CoS under terms that were too generous for Ayers. Brilliant!! This isn't even checkers. It's one dimensional tic-tac-toe and Trump keeps insisting on letting the other guy go first and giving 'em a two move head start.

Speaking if Mr. Mulvaney, here he mentions his boss-to-be, for whom it will be an “honor” to act([-ing], that is) as CoS... but that is all in the future during his 2016 Congressional campaign:

“Yes, I am supporting Donald Trump, but I’m doing so despite the fact that I think he’s a terrible human being.”

That’s OK, Mick, you’re a terrible human being too; an anticompetent, hypocritical, lying grifter who’s all in in the corruption and treason of the extended Trump crime family.

A POS as COS to a POS.

Secretary of the Interior
@RyanZinke
will be leaving the Administration at the end of the year after having served for a period of almost two years. Ryan has accomplished much during his tenure and I want to thank him for his service to our Nation......

......The Trump Administration will be announcing the new Secretary of the Interior next week

I am pleased to announce that Mick Mulvaney, Director of the Office of Management & Budget, will be named Acting White House Chief of Staff, replacing General John Kelly, who has served our Country with distinction. Mick has done an outstanding job while in the Administration....

....I look forward to working with him in this new capacity as we continue to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! John will be staying until the end of the year. He is a GREAT PATRIOT and I want to personally thank him for his service!

For the record, there were MANY people who wanted to be the White House Chief of Staff. Mick M will do a GREAT job!

The only patriots left in the Whitehouse are the civil service and the household staff. The administration is bereft love of country or devotion to duty.

Never in the history of our Country has the “press” been more dishonest than it is today. Stories that should be good, are bad. Stories that should be bad, are horrible. Many stories, like with the REAL story on Russia, Clinton & the DNC, seldom get reported. Too bad!

The pathetic and dishonest Weekly Standard, run by failed prognosticator Bill Kristol (who, like many others, never had a clue), is flat broke and out of business. Too bad. May it rest in peace!

Trump never wrote that. Not in a million years. It is grammatically correct for the most part and does not have any CAPITOL LETERS or WITCH HUNT screeches.

Do we think Trump knows words like 'prognosticator'?

I was going to write "Stay classy, Donald" but Norman and the good Captain have excellent points. Not only does Donald not know the word "prognosticator" he couldn't spell it correctly if he did. Not his work.

I for one am looking forward to the incredible awkwardness at chow time in Otisburg. By the time The PDJT gets there, Cohen is going to be a cell boss with tats and mutton chops, and demand his cookie every day at lunch.

Some amusing news tangentially related to Trump and his legal team:

The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), a conservative Christian watchdog group, has launched a legal campaign to fight what it calls “Buddhist meditation” in American public schools. The group takes issue with the secular mindfulness programs that have been implemented in some schools, in which audio recordings guide students through stress-reduction practices. The organization says that mindfulness practices “equate to Buddhism.”

The ACLJ is a Christian conservative watchdog group founded by televangelist Pat Robertson, who in the past has compared Buddhism to a disease. Jay Sekulow, the organization’s chief counsel, is on President Trump’s legal team. One of the ACLJ’s main activities is the promotion of Christian prayer in public schools.

“We’re launching a multifaceted legal campaign including representing parents of these students, sending demand letters, state FOIA requests, and if necessary, litigation,” reads a petition on the organization’s website. “Indoctrinating young kids in public schools with Buddhist meditation is outright unconstitutional.”

...

Said one caller on Sekulow’s radio program, “This is toxic ideology. This goes beyond just bad education. This could be corrupting our children’s eternal souls. I have two small children, and I don’t want them sitting around just thinking about creation and goodness and peace. I mean, if my two angels, who are innocent, are gonna be learning about explorers, they should be learning about Jesus or Trump.”

Linky.

Somehow, a couple of posts above lead me to this.
Philosopher Harry Frankfurt, in his essay On ********, attempts a rigorous philosophical definition of ********. For Frankfurt, this consists of drawing a sharp distinction between a ********ter and a liar; the difference being that a liar cares enough about the truth to state known falsehoods, whereas a ********ter does not care because some other goal is paramount. "Liars at least acknowledge that it matters what is true. By virtue of this, Frankfurt writes, ******** is a greater enemy of the truth than lies are."[3]
By that definition, Trump is far more a BS'r than a liar.
