I see the Hungarian government...which bears more then a lsmall resembelence to the Trump movement...just stated that courts have no juriscidtion over it. Goodbye Democracy in Hungary.
I think Trump is very envious...

Depends on how willing THEY are to take the COS job.

The Blue Collar Trump workers should look at Hungary, where a Trump like populist government which got into power with their support just sold them down the river with a law giving employers the right to demand basically 10 weeks of overtime a year without any recourse.

You do much better than I do. When I find out someone supported Trump I just go straight to yelling at them that they are evil and a monster.
My relatives are not necessarily who I would choose for my friends, but we're all caring for my mother, who is 94, has dementia and is far more skeptical of Trump then either my aunt or my brother.

Both my brother and my aunt have health insurance they can take for granted. My brother's is heavily subsidized and my aunt seems to use Medicare as her hobby - her health may really be that bad, but sometimes I wonder if she has Munchhausen syndrome. She recently saw a doctor because it felt like her tongue was unraveling.

Anyway, they don't know about that feeling of bald exposure that comes from working in the gig economy and having a pre-existing condition. Not their fault; they really don't understand. I used to take my health insurance for granted, too. Democrats had the ACA plan; Republicans had the SOL plan :(.

It's not that they don't care, it's that they don't know. At least that's what I tell myself today. These are not all bad people (though some of them are). They've been manipulated badly and maybe are beginning to realize this. There is no reason to support Trump. You can be as conservative, pull-yourself-up-by-the-bootstraps, and as patriotic as you want - and there is still no reason to support Trump. Light is dawning. Maybe.

Anybody see that babble-fest that was the Cuomo-Conway segment last night? 25 minutes of nonstop prevaricating. When Don Lemon came on he was pissed that Cuomo gave her any oxygen at all. Cuomo defended himself by saying that's what he wanted people to see -- that's the best they got?

Kellyanne Conway may be in on it. Her husband certainly thinks Trump is an idiot. Maybe she has been playing a long game that is steadily getting shorter.

Someone wrote that NYT op-ed.

It's like some sort of perverted Midas curse. The Trump touch: everything he touches turns into a criminal enterprise.

That has been his business for 30 years. Trump saw running for President as a moneymaking operation, nothing less. An opportunity to bilk campaign donors as he did charities. He must have bragged about his might be the first campaign to make money. Trump knows nothing about government, but he does know how to cheat people. He held campaign events at his properties then billed his campaign. And since he ran the properties, he could overcharge on everything, from the space to planning, food, wine. He would use his own plane and overcharge for that. All the while promising donors access and policy.

And once he became President, he just kept it up. Think about the Inaugural. He turned it into a racket. He raised more than twice as much money as other Presidents and then had 25% percent as many events. No doubt Trump made 50 million dollars just for that. If we looked into every penny the Trump family has made...(I refuse to say 'earned, Trump is probably 10 times the crook we think he is)

Red lines being crossed:

During the planning, Ivanka Trump, the president-elect’s eldest daughter and a senior executive with the Trump Organization, was involved in negotiating the price the hotel charged the 58th Presidential Inaugural Committee for venue rentals. A top inaugural planner emailed Ivanka and others at the company to “express my concern” that the hotel was overcharging for its event spaces, worrying of what would happen “when this is audited.”

If the Trump hotel charged more than the going rate for the venues, it could violate tax law. The inaugural committee’s payments to the Trump Organization and Ivanka Trump’s role have not been previously reported or disclosed in public filings.

“The fact that the inaugural committee did business with the Trump Organization raises huge ethical questions about the potential for undue enrichment,” said Marcus Owens, the former head of the division of the Internal Revenue Service that oversees nonprofits.

Linky.

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) told The New Yorker that he plans to subpoena information on President Trump's personal business transactions from Deutsche Bank regarding allegations that the president's financial interests in Russia are affecting his foreign policy positions.

Schiff, who will likely chair the House Intelligence Committee come January, said he believes answers to whether Trump was involved in money laundering with Russia lie in records held by the German-owned bank, which Trump banked with extensively during the 1990s.

“Is that why Trump is so pro-Russian? Is his financial interest guiding his foreign policy?” Schiff asked in an interview with the magazine.

“We are going to be looking at the issue of possible money laundering by the Trump Organization, and Deutsche Bank is one obvious place to start,” he continued.

I like this idea. She has always come across differently than the other Trump apologists. She comes across to me as savy and defending Trump while playing a PR/lawerly game. I got that feeling early while hearing her famous “alt facts” line.

I am beginning to tingle just a little bit with the hope that we will look back and see this as the very beginning of when Trump lost his political power. The willingness of the Senate to counter Trump's position on Saudi Arabia, the Khashoggi killing, and the war in Yemen is one such positive sign. But it is even more significant that so many potential candidates have realized that joining Trump's administration as Chief of Staff is currently equivalent to being invited to eat a weasel-on-toast sandwich. A weasel-on-toast sandwich, served rare with bacon, mayo, and California Romaine lettuce and already rotting. They can detect the smell even from outside and they know it will sicken them and their careers.
Not if they have some form of immunity, such as might be gained by colluding with Republicans who want Trump out and Pence in ASAP.

I also continue to believe that Trump's support among other Republican leaders is not only fragile, but will quickly turn to strong, blatant opposition and acts of political revenge as soon as they perceive Trump as adequately weakened. Trump has spent multiple years demeaning, insulting, and bullying these people; they are just waiting for a chance at payback. The turn around will be swift once it begins. IMHO.
I agree. A torrent of bottled-up resentment will be released when the dam breaks.

The holiday period is the perfect time for plotting. Everyone's away from DC and its ever-present eyes and ears, back home with their close political family, taking the local temperature. Thinking about the mid-terms just gone and 2020 to come. Would it be preferable to run Pence in 2020, or Trump? If Pence, the sooner he gets incumbent the better. And why would anyone prefer Trump?

Time for an outbreak of "I'm shocked ... shocked ... to discover that President Trump is of bad character", followed by the figurative baseball bat activity.

I am pleased to announce that Mick Mulvaney, Director of the Office of Management & Budget, will be named Acting White House Chief of Staff, replacing General John Kelly, who has served our Country with distinction. Mick has done an outstanding job while in the Administration....

....I look forward to working with him in this new capacity as we continue to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! John will be staying until the end of the year. He is a GREAT PATRIOT and I want to personally thank him for his service!

For the record, there were MANY people who wanted to be the White House Chief of Staff. Mick M will do a GREAT job!

As I predicted all along, Obamacare has been struck down as an UNCONSTITUTIONAL disaster! Now Congress must pass a STRONG law that provides GREAT healthcare and protects pre-existing conditions. Mitch and Nancy, get it done!

Wow, but not surprisingly, ObamaCare was just ruled UNCONSTITUTIONAL by a highly respected judge in Texas. Great news for America!
