First you're taking McCabe at his word, now you're citing Avenatti as a compass of morality.
 
So, Cohen is a sewer rat but TBD is still defending Flynn? Cohen got three years. Flynn is getting off with no jail time because he has ratted Trump out bigly. Really spilled the Covfefe.

Sort of feels like Trump's throwing Cohen under the bus, actually.

Oh dear, quite the contrary there as [Daddy] has specifically told us that Cohen is "my lawyer" and rather than placing him under the bus, it seems that he is embracing him to the bosom of Team Trump.

What an unusual comment, I think it was absolutely clear that the "$20 million" was the gravy, and keeping the NDA and getting the arbitration in place was the key.

Your speculation about Cohen going to jail (not gonna happen, Trump will pardon) and Trump impeachment ( :rolleyes: ) is completely separate.

The special counsel also attached FBI 302 memos which Flynn's attorneys cited as proof that the FBI did not give him any notice at their first meeting that he should not lie to them. However, the special counsel showed through the 302s that "during the interview, the FBI agents gave the defendant multiple opportunities to correct his false statements by revisiting key questions."

The more I learn about Flynn, the more I conclude that TBD DOESN'T know ANYTHING about how Flynn was questioned. Not only did the FBI Agents didn't try and trick Flynn they gave Flynn every opportunity to tell the truth and change what he said. They kept trying to lead him to correct his statements. The problem was Flynn had been publicly telling these lies and the FBI Agents knew it before they interviewed him. And still Flynn never corrected himself. They also asked Flynn if he wanted counsel and Flynn dismissed it jovially.

The real question on every ones mind is why did he lie?

I see TBD's latest whopper has been corrected.

LoL not only did TBD miss the 302's being submitted, but the lawyers for the man he's defending have literally ******* cited them to rationalize Flynn lying.

How did our legal beagle miss this one?

But even that is hardly a crime. I mean Flynn was going to be NSA. It doesn't look good, but it might be seen as just a fair warning for Russia not to over-react and tie the hands of the new government.

No, it seems as if there has to be much more.

On reflection, one fact has changed polarity - the guilt of al-Megrahi for the Lockerbie bombing. From guilty when he was released, which was condemned by many on the right, including Mueller, to innocent when someone noticed Mueller's involvement in the case.

Aparrently there's no sacred cow that Trumpists won't slaughter (then overcook and smother with ketchup) in the service of their hero.

That's my point.

Why on earth did Flynn lie about something so trivial. He didn't need to lie. OK, what he did in communicating with the Russians about sanctions might not have been correct protocol, but it wasn't worth lying to the FBI about.

The only reason I can come up with for Flynn lying is that he thought telling the truth about his dealings with Russia on that matter might open the door for further investigation, putting the FBI on the trail of something much bigger, something that really did need to be covered up.
