The biscuit is keeping whatever tangible evidence Stormy claims to have out of the public, and getting the case out of court and to confidential arbitration.

While that remains a goal, it is clear that Cohen has bigger fish to fry than the Porn Star and the Attention Whore.
 
Trump is throwing a hail Mary. He's asking to see Cohen's records before they are turned over to the prosecutors. I doubt there is much chance of that. I have yet to read his legal justification for this but it has to be ridiculous.

Yea, like staying out of prison. My bet is within 90 days, Cohen is indicted. So he is going to have to take the 5th. I wonder when Cohen and Trump fold on the Stormy Daniels case.

If the judge rejects the request by Trump to view Cohen's records, I wonder what TheBigDog will say about that?

After all, he spent so much time criticizing Daniel's lawyer Avenatti for launching a motion that was rejected by the courts. Is he going to give equal weight to Trump's legal team and criticize them for launching a failed motion in courts?

Now that's not fair.

He doesn't just pay them off to get tax breaks. He's also paid off politicians so that they would drop investigations against Trump University.

He'll probably say its because Judge Kimba Wood is overseeing it and she must be biased. Keep in mind that Trump and Cohen's lawyers have moved for a temporary restraining order and a special master to be appointed that doesnt look like will be granted. Why do they need a special master when there is a taint team already serving that function?

Actually, I just repeated the criticisms that the Judge outlined in denying the motion (the violation of the page limits, the failure to attach actual evidence, bring the motion as an expedited matter while offering no good reason to do so). The Judge told Avenatti to read the rules, that is what legal beagles call a bitch slap.

In comparison, Wood is overseeing a matter related to a criminal matter which might eventually involve depriving a person of his freedom and therefore the lawyers should act zealously to preserve their clients' interests.

Thirsty's motion was a *********** stunt

If that is Trump's goal his legal team is in worse trouble than I thought. Never work for a client who can't see the big picture.

And being raided by the FBI isn't a sign of being in fairly deep trouble?

Seriously if they care about what Stormy has I have to wonder what it could possibly be. I mean they have pretty much written off Cohen as going to prison over this, what worse could her pictures and correspondence be?

Cohen could be in jail and Trump facing impeachment, but so long as the physical evidence of the affair that everyone knows about already are tied up in arbitration they would be winning by TBD's standard. Not what I would call a good fixer, but this is Trump's America: Set your expectation accordingly.

Out of curiosity have you ever heard of anyone saying "This is a totally valid contract, but I plead the 5th when asked about any details of it" I mean seriously???????

When the F*%$^#*( Lawyer who drafted the contract pleads the fifth about it!!!!! And demands it be enforced!!!!

There is so much about this that is completely novel to me. That I've never had contract dispute that involved the attorney on the other side being the focus of a criminal investigation is just the gravy.

What an unusual comment, I think it was absolutely clear that the "$20 million" was the gravy, and keeping the NDA and getting the arbitration in place was the key.

Your speculation about Cohen going to jail (not gonna happen, Trump will pardon) and Trump impeachment ( :rolleyes: ) is completely separate.

Do you think this kind of crazy would make it out of the courts if it didn't involve the president? I mean this is some seriously weird legal proceedings.
