Four in 10 adults still say they don’t have enough savings to cover a $400 emergency expense, according to the latest Federal Reserve report on the economic well-being of Americans. While that is an improvement over 2013, when half of Americans said they could not cover a $400 expense, it remains elevated at a time when unemployment is so low and wages are rising.

A substantial number of Americans — 45 percent — still rate the current economy as “only fair” or “poor,” according to a Gallup poll in November. Though that is better than in recent years, it is still far higher than November 2000, when only 29 percent of Americans gave the economy a poor grade.

Despite the abundance of “We’re hiring!” signs across the country, an alarming number of men in their prime working years are not employed or looking for work. The labor force participation rate for men ages 25 to 54 is 89 percent, which is below the pre-recession level (90.6 percent in November 2007) and well below what the rate was in 2000, when nearly 92 percent of men of prime age had jobs or were actively searching for work.

It's almost like America is in a economic hole that they can't just grow themselves out of. #MAGA

“This great nation can tolerate a President who makes mistakes. But it cannot tolerate one who makes a mistake and then breaks the law to cover it up.” - Orinn Hatch at a time when it suited him to talk about values.

Today it’s, “I don’t care, all I can say is he’s doing a good job as President.”...

Worse, he isn't doing a good job, he just says he is and people believe the con. [Details on request]

Yeah, that's not gonna happen. Any young Repub is already lost to the Alt-Right.

If you exclude all the would have been GOP but signed up as no party affiliation or Independent, then maybe. But I don't believe the next generation of conservatives are all of the alt-right ilk.

Great, two corrupt senile ******** drinking from the public trough.

Gingrich has been living off perpetual campaign donations for decades. He raises money from people that haven't figured out he really isn't running then pays his own company, of which he is the sole proprietor, for campaign consulting.

Gingrich is like Giuliani still grasping to get in someone else's spotlight long after their own burned out.

I would vote for a parliamentary system.

May I suggest that our version isn't looking too hot at the moment, but at least it could give the US posters a chance to see a different type of complete fiasco to their government.

While may answer was flippant, it was truthful none-the-less. The VP has a single role in government: break ties in the Senate. Other than that, he's decoration/status symbol. And, of course, the failover President.

Doesn't the VP also traditionally get sent to events that are significant enough that somebody should be there, but which the President doesn't want to attend?

"Mr. President, you've received an invitation to Lithuania's 50th Annual Turnip Festival."
"Eh. Send the VP."

Charles Dickens created a cherecter called Seth Pecksniff who was a total hypocrite. So much so that the name "Pecksniff" for a long time was a term used to describe a big time hypocrite.
Looks as if the name 'Orrin Hatch" might replace "Pecksniff" as a term for a complete Hypocrite.

Lindsay Graham is also in the running.

A big 215 miles planned, and less than that done out of a 2,000 mile border.

OTOH, it's good, keep telling Trump his wall is almost built to keep him happy. :p

How much will it add to the cost of the wall to extend it 75 miles to the north to take in Tuscon?

Trump Tweets

Let’s not do a shutdown, Democrats - do what’s right for the American People!
