If Trump pardons Manafort, does he get the seized assets back?
I think that's a question for a constitutional lawyer, myself.
If Trump pardons Manafort, does he get the seized assets back?
I'm not sure if I'd go as far as to say they think he's actually innocent. More like they think it's just politics as usual and he's being singled out. Kind of like if you get pinched for speeding when you're just basically keeping up with the flow of traffic. Though for that analogy to work for Trump that would have to be some pretty dang fast trafic. Not to mention given this groups propensity for announcing and talking about intentions better kept mum about. There's the possibility (in terms of the analogy) of a tape of him saying "I'm going to try doing 100 MPH down the thruway later".
that perspective is still nonsensical, even though it sounds knowing, not-naive, and therefore legitimate. If Trump is being singled out, let’s hear the case for Obama violating the emoluments clause, and why didn’t the Benghazi hearings result in a prosecution, etc.
Trump thinks Trump is innocent and the charges are made up. I imagine he fluctuates from delusional to denial and back. But he tells those wing-nuts he's innocent and the FBI is the lying deep-state, some of them (seen 'em interviewed on the news, person in the street, that kind of thing) actually believe it's all made up lies.
Actually that comparison has some flaws. I've been watching RT every day now along with France 24 which is an EU focused news. Pretty much what RT has on leans very liberal and not in a bad way, with the exception of any stories involving Russia which have an obvious pro-Russia slant. Fox seems to fawn all over Trump where RT is not fawning all over Putin or Russia all the time.
You can tell there is Kremlin oversight, but a lot of the reporting is more independent. There are lots of things wrong with US politics and they do carry those stories, but it's not all propaganda all the time.
Try Lee Camp Redacted Tonight for a taste of their satire. Plenty of Youtube videos online to get a good sample.
They have Headline News about 30 minutes of every hour. The other 30 minutes is either something like Redacted, or some pretty decent documentary shorts. I'm not a fan of some of them like Jesse Ventura's program, but some are actually pretty good.
Another lie by Trump. Comey never mentioned Democrats. He urged voters to stop Trump from being re-elected.

I'm not stupid. RT is not much like Fox at all. That's how one does propaganda.
I repeat, I'm not stupid. It's is true that RT does a lot of its propaganda not by misinformation, but by picking only the kind of stories that make Russia look good or at least 'normal" and expose the rest of the world as hypocrites.
I repeat, I'm not stupid.
Make no mistake, mammals of all types
I'm not stupid. RT is not much like Fox at all.
I'm suggesting people who instantly stereotype it as akin to Fox more than likely have not actually watched much of it. It has better coverage of the news, especially international news than CNN or MSNBC both of which have sounds bytes and 24 hour coverage with nothing to say. RT has about 30 minutes of headline news which is repeated throughout the day so it's less news but they still have more to say than the classic MSN model of CNN and MSNBC.
I'm telling you, any story about Russia has a clear slant. The rest might be more honest than you would think. And it's nothing like Fox which puts out a steady diet of right wing propaganda with only a few exceptions like Shep Smith.
I probably don't watch RT as much as Skeptic Ginger has, but my assessment is similar to hers. I was going to bring up Al Jazeera as the same type news service, so I'm glad you (TGZ) beat me to it. My right leaning friends became apoplectic, and even my left leaning friends had reservations, when I told them that Al Jazeera America was the best news station around during its short-lived trial in the US. It was. I caveated my praise by stating that there was undoubtedly a long term objective which ultimately involved a positive portrayal and subsequent swaying of views in regard to the station's sponsors, but in the meantime it was an excellent, bare bones, no frills, cut to the chase way to find out key info.Apologies for any perceived insult.
I agree that almost all media outlets pick their stories to fit into an overarching narrative.
But there is a difference:
Most outlets try to attract viewers to satisfy advertisers; RT has to satisfy the Kremlin to keep up its funding.
Because of this, RT can afford to be much less crude and sensationalist than other channels, which often gives them the chance to produce better content; the same is true of Al Jazeera.
Both channels are, just by virtue of not being American, worth watching from time to time, simply to get a different perspective on things.
But on certain topics, they simply cannot be trusted at all.
I sometimes listen to DW, which is a German Government-funded program which seems to be the least biased news source I have found so far.

"Recently the president tweeted a statement calling me weak, and it was correct but for a much different reason than he was implying," Cohen said, according to multiple reports. "It was because time and time again I felt it was my duty to cover up his dirty deeds."
