That's funny. Then there was the comment that Mexico would pay for the wall in the new NAFTA agreement—tell Trump he said so, see what he does with that. :sdl:

Not only are they dumb, it seems like so many of his lies seen to provide absolutely no benefit to him.

Yeah, lying about "I will provide health care" or "I was against the Iraq war" make sense... they're lies, but it may actually earn him some votes. But lies like "It didn't rain during my innnaguration speech"? How exactly does that benefit him (since I doubt many of his supporters think he's a weather-controlling wizard).

I think Pelosi would have won anyway,(No real viable replacments) but her performance today cemented her position.
 
Trump lies because he has entirely lost contact with any objective reality, cannot function in any logical manner, he recycles old story-tracks repeatedly no matter how relevant to the context, and he retains not a single iota of what he said himself barely a few minutes ago. This is dementia, a mental illness.

Also, Pence sat there and let Trump fall into the abyss without a single comment. He may as well have pushed Trump for all the "help" he provided. Clearly he was trying to show how "presidential" he was in comparison to the gibbering orange ape to his left. Expect some backroom maneuvering now...

It’s a horrible form of government, better than all the others.

And, we are constitutional republic, not a pure democracy, so there’s that. As far as that goes.

The major networks are showing today's Oval Office clash, and journalists are discussing it on air. I wonder if Fox viewers saw any of it.
 
Reports that the GOP Senators were dumfounded by Trump's promise to shut down the Government.
No S---t ,Sherlock. THey know enough that even if you think you can get what you want by a Shutdown, you make is look like the Other Side is responsible. That is Politics 101.
Maybe it will finally dawn on them that 45 is a moron who will do the GOP huge damage in the long run.
 
But what really be eating on Donnie is that ,although neither side looked good in this fiasco, the Democrats came out better, beating Donnie at his own reality TV game.
