Cont: The Trump Presidency 11: Insert something funny

So there's a CNN article that says insiders are saying watching the state funeral for Bush has made Trump "introspective" about how his own presidency will be looked back on.

Which would, no snark, be something I would welcome if I had even the tiniest bit of hope that Trump was capable of any level of honest self reflection or self improvement.

No, but he’s capable of fear.

His constant braggadocio can’t keep out the creeping realization that he’ll never be accorded the solemn respect Bush 41 received this week; that he will forever be viewed as an embarrasment - a corrupt, vulgar, incompetent, treasonous clown of a failure. He’s afraid of that, and there’s nothing he can do about it, and he knows it, and it makes him full of impotent tweeting rage. Never mind the metal detectors and handbag searches; when Trump lies in state, they’ll need to make people empty their bladders and spit until they’re dry before admitting them to the Rotunda.

I do wonder what Trump's funeral will actually be like.

Lets say Santa Clause is good to us and delivers some Trump indictments for christmas, and/or the Republicans actually decide to impeach (so there is no way to deny he was corrupt). Would any surviving presidents actually attend the funeral? Would he get the same sort of "lying in state" that Bush Sr. (or even Nixon) got? Or would they take efforts to minimize the event? (Instead of the president, they send the deputy undersecretary for the department of irrelevance.)

Like your thinking. But probably they would want to make sure he was really dead, and stayed that way.

And he knows that great many of the GOp congress critters who support him publically really despise him behind closed doors.

I am pleased to announce that Heather Nauert, Spokeswoman for the United States Department of State, will be nominated to serve as United Nations Ambassador. I want to congratulate Heather, and thank Ambassador Nikki Haley for her great service to our Country!

I am pleased to announce that I will be nominating The Honorable William P. Barr for the position of Attorney General of the United States. As the former AG for George H.W. Bush....

....and one of the most highly respected lawyers and legal minds in the Country, he will be a great addition to our team. I look forward to having him join our very successful Administration!

Some of Rex Tillerson comments that came out today about Trump include such gems as "lazy as hell" and "dumb as a rock".
I suspect Tillerson will be on the receiving end of a Trump twitter in the near future.

It's always projection with Trump. Always.

And, although it was couched in more restrarined language, I think that Tillerson was saying those things about Trump with terms like "Unfocused" and "Unwilling to Read anything".

Mike Pompeo is doing a great job, I am very proud of him. His predecessor, Rex Tillerson, didn’t have the mental capacity needed. He was dumb as a rock and I couldn’t get rid of him fast enough. He was lazy as hell. Now it is a whole new ballgame, great spirit at State!

Hopefully Mitch McConnell will ask for a VOTE on Criminal Justice Reform. It is extremely popular and has strong bipartisan support. It will also help a lot of people, save taxpayer dollars, and keep our communities safe. Go for it Mitch!

Yet Trump was the one who picked Tillerson in the first place.

And the Republicans confirmed the nomination.

What does that say about their ability to judge talent and abilities?
