You understand that both were and are now almost completely irrelevant, right?

After Trump and his team were briefed by the FBI that the Russians were attacking the US and trying to infiltrate the Trump campaign, and that the Trump team were obligated to report any approaches by Russians to the FBI, Trump was negotiating a business deal that he knew was tied to the Russian government and not only didn't inform the FBI but vociferously denied the negotiations were even happening. You think this is irrelevant.

I get the hyperventilating by the Leftists, but lets not lose sight of the big picture here.

You're right, this is only the tip of the iceberg.

You mean about the Senate voting against supporting Saudi Arabia due to Khashoggi?

I think we've seen this before... when congress passed a bill sanctioning Russia for election interference, and then the Trump sprung into action and did... nothing. Well, they did eventually impose sanctioning, but did so after missing several deadlines.

I suspect that any actions against Saudi Arabia will follow a similar pattern, with congress passing a law, Trump ignoring it and/or missing deadlines to act, and congress ignoring the delays.

We're talking about whether or not the Senate would vote against Trump. I'm using an example of the Senate voting against Trump. You've just provided another example, as if it's a counter-argument to the idea that the Senate would vote against Trump.

Not surprised at Fredo being in Mueller's sights;a little surprised at Ivanka.

Why are you surprised at Ivanka? I know the media tend to go soft on her, but she's really clearly been up to her eyes in this from the start. Money laundering, too. She's the one of the family who socialises with Putin's friends and who has sat in his chair.

It tickles me to think that it's possible the good guys may be not so "by the book" predictable in rules following as to allow themselves to get snookered by Whitaker's machinations, and instead keep witless Whittie floundering ineffectually by using his own jeopardy-laden situation against him.

Trump Tweets

Oh, I get it! I am a very good developer, happily living my life, when I see our Country going in the wrong direction (to put it mildly). Against all odds, I decide to run for President & continue to run my business-very legal & very cool, talked about it on the campaign trail...

...Lightly looked at doing a building somewhere in Russia. Put up zero money, zero guarantees and didn’t do the project. Witch Hunt!

It certainly appeals to whatever sense of irony that I might have acquired since I joined this forum (I didn't used get irony before that, but after getting a couple of "cainings ", I have gained an appreciation, and learned to recognise it at least three times out of five).

donny REALLY hasn't got his tiny head around the legal concept of "not admitting in public to doing actually illegal stuff", has he.

Oh yes, you know the saying "there's always a tweet"? https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/819159806489591809

Russia has never tried to use leverage over me. I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH RUSSIA - NO DEALS, NO LOANS, NO NOTHING!

https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump/status/828939235499638784?s=21

I don't know Putin, have no deals in Russia, and the haters are going crazy - yet Obama can make a deal with Iran, #1 in terror, no problem!

For the record, I have ZERO investments in Russia.

Looks like Don Jr is in hot water:

WSJ now reporting: “Investigators obtained emails about the project from late 2015 and January 2016...in which Mr. Cohen communicated with or copied Mr. Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., and his daughter, Ivanka Trump”

Compare Don Jr told Senate:

The tweet embedded in that tweet has Jr.'s Congressional testimony embedded in it.

And, just for clarity's sake: https://twitter.com/neal_katyal/status/1068179209263169537

Folks need to remember when Michael Cohen was negotiating the deal with "Russia" for Trump, he was not negotiating like a regular business transaction. The plea agreement says he was negotiating with Kremlin *OFFICIALS* -- not private businesspersons. This is no ordinary biz.

Still, nothing to see here.

I know. Avenatti is deplorable.
Remind me : why's this guy famous?

I don't think he's all that famous. Maybe a barely 'D List' trying to get some face time on the talking head circuit.

He lucked out with getting Stormy as a client, but any other publicity hungry mouthpiece could have filled his shoes.

She was the celebrity. He was just riding her coattails.
