The one awesome thing is that with the exception of Baron, it's fun to know they're all suffering.

I had hoped to see him a the turkey-pardoning ceremony, just to try to get a sense of how he's doing amidst all this. As far as I saw, he was not there.

"Sorry, Mr. Gobbles. I'm saving up all my pardons in case I need them."

ETA: Huh? I trusted you guys. Trump pardoning the turkeys is all over the news.

Brainfart. You were referring to seeing Barron at the pardoning. NVM.

Which is an indirect way of saying MBS is innocent, innocent based on Trump's scale of measurement.

Trump's Scale of Measurement™ is based on what degree of use (to Trump) does the individual in question serve (to Trump).

Let's be perfectly honest here: If MBS (and Saudia Arabia) served no purpose (to Trump, and Jared), MBS would be declared firmly by Trump as "guilty". He'd be screeching "guilty!" (and a new nickname for MBS) all over the twitterverse.

Warning, youtube video. MSNBC talks about a NYT report that Trump directly ordered the prosecution of Hillary and Comey. Don McGahn directly informed Trump that that would apparently be an impeachable offense, on top of the rest of the problems with it.

President Trump told the White House counsel in the spring that he wanted to order the Justice Department to prosecute two of his political adversaries: his 2016 challenger, Hillary Clinton, and the former F.B.I. director James B. Comey, according to two people familiar with the conversation.

The lawyer, Donald F. McGahn II, rebuffed the president, saying that he had no authority to order a prosecution. Mr. McGahn said that while he could request an investigation, that too could prompt accusations of abuse of power. To underscore his point, Mr. McGahn had White House lawyers write a memo for Mr. Trump warning that if he asked law enforcement to investigate his rivals, he could face a range of consequences, including possible impeachment.

The encounter was one of the most blatant examples yet of how Mr. Trump views the typically independent Justice Department as a tool to be wielded against his political enemies. It took on additional significance in recent weeks when Mr. McGahn left the White House and Mr. Trump appointed a relatively inexperienced political loyalist, Matthew G. Whitaker, as the acting attorney general.

It is unclear whether Mr. Trump read Mr. McGahn’s memo or whether he pursued the prosecutions further. But the president has continued to privately discuss the matter, including the possible appointment of a second special counsel to investigate both Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Comey, according to two people who have spoken to Mr. Trump about the issue. He has also repeatedly expressed disappointment in the F.B.I. director, Christopher A. Wray, for failing to more aggressively investigate Mrs. Clinton, calling him weak, one of the people said.

Linky.

I can't recommend reading this statement enough. It is astounding.

After my heavily negotiated trip to Saudi Arabia last year...

What the heck does that mean? "No,no, no, Donald Trump does not set foot in another country for less than five grand a day! The 'embrace' is extra. Trump also requires the finest hotels, comped of course! Put me in the Ritz-Carlton while I'm there. Do they have a presidential suite? It's for presidents, right?"

I wonder if Saudi Arabia convinced Trump that the glowing orb was a magical pledge orb. That if Trump ever betrays Saudi Arabia, he will suffer magical consequences.

Hmmm, the timing of this new revelation, were they saving it up and the Khashoggi murder warranted it's use?

Anonymous source and Trump's history of gish galloping applied to outrage acts smacks of GW era purposeful leaks.

I'm slightly intoxicated and totally disgusted.
Trump: Washington Post is the enemy of the people!
Saudis: Washington Post reporter we murdered was an enemy of the state!
Trump: Works for me.
Trump Fanbois on this forum: Works for me!

Two years ago, I said I'd move to Canada if Trump was elected. Instead, because Canada didn't seem to welcome me, I built a new house and stayed in Trump's America. I'm ashamed of myself for that.

Saudi Arabia is the country most responsible for the 9/11 attacks. Not Afghanistan, and certainly not Iraq. So they not only get off Scot free, but we have multiple presidents kissing their Wahabi asses because of oil and money. Murder an American resident? Fine with me, just keep Jared's dollars flowing in!

And when, in a few years, the Saudis will be using all those lovely American weapons they're buying to destroy Israel, the American right will be just fine with that because, you know, it'll bring on the second coming.

Schitt. (That's an acceptable word, the President of the USofA uses it!)

I was driving my son back from school this morning and heard him verbally defending this horror-show of a justification. He actually said that the most important thing (and more important by implication than, say, murdering a political opponent) is money.

The man is truly disgusting.

Recommendation: If your post is still able to be edited, change that "him" in the first sentence to "Trump," unless you believe your son is a truly disgusting man. ;)

Duh! Too late to edit. The error is that I was actually driving back from dropping my son at school. Yeah, poor syntax, regardless. (See what Trump does to us? Turns us into blithering idiots!)

Anyone want to defend Trump for trying to use the DOJ to go after his opponent and to discredit a witness against him?
Anyone?
