"People are not being told that the Republican Party is on track to pick up two seats in the U.S. Senate, and epic victory: 53 to 47. The Fake News Media only wants to speak of the House, were the Midterm results were better than other sitting Presidents."

The CIA has concluded that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the assassination of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul last month, contradicting the Saudi government’s claims that he was not involved in the killing, according to people familiar with the matter.

Linky.

But we know how Trump feels about intelligence agency conclusions that he disagrees with.

President Trump has resisted pinning the blame for the killing on Mohammed, who enjoys a close relationship with Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law and senior adviser. Privately, aides said, Trump has been shown evidence of the prince’s involvement but remains skeptical that Mohammed ordered the killing.

The president has also asked CIA and State Department officials where Khashoggi’s body is and has grown frustrated that they have not been able to provide an answer. The CIA does not know the location of Khashoggi’s remains, according to the people familiar with the agency’s assessment.

...

Trump has told senior White House officials that he wants Mohammed to remain in power because Saudi Arabia helps to check Iran, which the administration considers its top security challenge in the Middle East. He has said that he does not want the controversy over Khashoggi’s death to impede oil production by the kingdom.

I think you're underestimating the families. But I wasn't trying to suggest that everybody would turn on him, it's just that every time he disrespects the military more people actually affiliated with the military are going to go "you know what? I don't want to vote for this guy again". And I'd have thought that nobody would care more about honouring dead soldiers than other soldiers.
No don't be silly, that would only happen if he used the word "deplorable" about a percentage of them.

Well, Trump, you ******* dunce, Iran might not be as big a security challenge if you hadn't made blowing up our improving relationship with them one of your top priorities.

Trump is truly the littlest brain we've ever had in the White House, and I suspected that George W. Bush was developmentally disabled!

Trump is excellent at one thing: trumping his own stupidity. Every time I think he couldn't say something more stupid, he goes and proves me wrong.

"Isn’t it ironic that large Caravans of people are marching to our border wanting U.S.A. asylum because they are fearful of being in their country - yet they are proudly waving...."

"....their country’s flag. Can this be possible? Yes, because it is all a BIG CON, and the American taxpayer is paying for it!"

Now we are paying for the caravan?

Yes. As a comparison, we've paid as much for the caravan now that the payments are equal to or even exceed the amount that Mexico has paid for The Wall That Wasn't.

You guys are forgetting the cost of keeping a bunch of troops near the border who are not only doing nothing for border security, but forbidden by law from doing so!

Trump tweets:
I can get Nancy Pelosi as many votes as she wants in order for her to be Speaker of the House. She deserves this victory, she has earned it - but there are those in her party who are trying to take it away. She will win!

Jorge Bonilla replies:
You already did.
:D

That's not paying for the caravan. That's paying the bills for a Republican election eve gambit that failed miserably. The federal government should charge the hundreds of millions back to the RNC and Trump 2020 campaigns.

Mia Love, a Utah Republican candidate who had been dissed by Trump immediately after the election as a loser who lost because she failed to "embrace" him adequately, has now pulled narrowly ahead in the extended vote count. I would prefer the Democrat to win, but this would be next best under the circumstances.

Reminds me a little of of Beck Weathers, a Mt. Everest climber in 1996 who was abandoned by his team as dead, only to stumble into camp the next day after a horrid night exposed on the mountain. What could his team members say? "Oh, there you are! Er, how's things?"

If Love does indeed win I don't think Trump increased the chances she will support him in her voting.

New Letter: Where are acting Attorney General Whitaker's financial disclosures? The public has a right to know:

Letter embedded in tweet. TL:DR verion, Whitaker has been legally required to file two public disclosure of finance reports with the Department of Justice (first in February, then in May), who must then allow anybody who asks in writing to inspect them. They have ignored repeated requests for this, and there is currently no evidence that Whitaker has actually filed any.

Reading up on her just now, I see that she's a hard-right whackjob who voted with Trump 96% of the time. The problem from the standpoint of TrumpleThinSkin: Love opposed the tariffs. And her campaign only did a limited roll-out of a Trump robocall.

Imagine Heathers but with the Back to the Future Biff character as part of the cast.

Like Ted Cruz? Lindsey Graham? Pretty much all the rest of the continuing Republican politicians that Trump blames and insults?

I believe the highlighted was covered with the words "Utah Republican."

The bottom line, of course, is that her winning is in no way a good thing for Trump opponents. The only gain would be the ephemeral pleasure of possibly annoying Trump; given that I'm not a hard-right whackjob, I don't find it that fulfilling to "trigger" others, even if they're Trump supporters. It certainly doesn't compare to eliminating another Republican from the Congress.

The highlight. I was expressing my temporary, dark humor bemusement, not my actual feelings. I very much hope that the Democrat pulls ahead by the end of the count.

It's delicious, isn't it? And this before the Democratic Party takes control of all those House committees. There'll be no Merry Xmas in the White House this year.

I don't know - Melania might be feeling festive.

ET: - Or do I mean Melanie?

"The New York Times did a phony story, as usual, about my relationship with @VP Mike Pence. They made up sources and refused to ask me, the only one that would know, for a quote...."

"....I can’t imagine any President having a better or closer relationship with their Vice President then the two of us. Just more FAKE NEWS, the Enemy of the People!"

So that means they hate each other and haven't spoken directly for months.

True, and I still do not understand this at all. Some of this obsequious behavior must come from fear of Trump's influence on the core Republican right-wing nutter voter base, a fear that perhaps might diminish a bit now after the midterms have demonstrated that Trump's endorsement is not always a plus.

I can only imagine what it must feel like be Cruz, Graham, etc. and every day have to keep smiling, nodding, and praising Trump despite all the insults and debasement. True of his cabinet too. How many showers must one take to feel clean again? It would be soul destroying, if one had a soul. Fortunately Cruz, Graham, etc. long ago sold or rented theirs...

You know Trump wrote this because the idiot doesn't know the difference between 'then' and 'than'.

That's why I think that when the time comes, Trump's support is going to collapse.

Any of his allies with any semblance of an ego will despise him. As soon as it's in their interest, they'll enjoy kicking him, and as soon as one starts to abandon him, the arithmetic for the remaining support changes.

I also fully expect him to get progressively more unhinged as things go wrong for him especially in the house. I'm sure enough of his base like him acting like a winning bully, but a humiliated bully is not such cool look.
