He shouldn't even be the AG. I think he knows it and doesn't care that he's there illegally. He will not recuse himself.
It would be hilarious if he did end up recusing.

I'm sure Trump would understand.
LOL. We all know that Trump and Whitaker have an agreement that he would not recuse himself. I really don't understand the delusion of the press and House Democrats have that Whitaker has ethical or moral integrity.
Oh, if he did, I would give almost anything to be a fly on the wall in the Oval Office when Der Trumpenführer finds out.
That goes double for me.
He may also be seeing that not doing so could put him in legal jeopardy.
If he's planning on being Der Trumpenführer's fall guy, and being paid for the time he is in jail, he had better make sure he gets paid up front.... we all know that Dolt welches on his deals.
I'm sure Trump would understand.
I would have thought Saudi Arabia with its obscene wealth, institutionalised racism and sexism and openly acknowledged state censorship would be more the Dolt’s bag.
There are rumors that new indictments might drop today.
I hope and assume that applecorped and others who are laser focused on the count share my anticipatory glee.

What, exactly, would happen if he doesn't recuse himself? What charges would be brought against him?
Who would bring them?
What is the likelihood that he would be prosecuted and convicted?
I really don't know the answers to these questions. I keep seeing references to rules he is supposed to follow, but I don't understand what those rules are, who makes them, or who enforces them.
What if Trump manages to replace the Deputy AG (Rosenstien) with another Trump toady (i.e. one who refuses to bring charges against 'his boss')? Are there any ways that charges could be laid then?Re: Possible charges against Whittiker[/i]...
Who would bring them?
The FBI would investigate, the Deputy AG would bring the charges.
