Because it shows he was committed to diversity and inclusion long before skeptics hopped on the bandwagon.
I'm only interested in the facts, the pertinent part where it says Trump was honored with an award for his commitment to tolerance and diversity. The uninformed opinions and conspiracy theories of pseudointellectuals don't interest me.
When all is said and done I suspect tomorrow's election will have the highest percentage of voters voting the straight Party ticket ever recorded (if such things are recorded)I am voting straight democrat tomorrow.

What a bizarre argument from authority. A charity's estimation of Trump's character 30 years ago doesn't override direct evidence of his racism today. I would guess that his inclusion on the same stage as people like Rosa Parks has more to do with the content of his bank account and less to do with the quality of his character.
Whether Trump's current racism is an accurate reflection of his inner mind or just a cynical political ploy to play to the worst instincts of the conservative base is irrelevant. Any personal animus is not important, Trump has made racism and bigotry a key element of his political platform.
If you "guess" that our civil rights leaders would prostitute out their legacy, take it to trash subforum with other unhinged conspiracy theories.
Fact check: you said "early 2000's"[sic]. DOMA was passed in 1996.
American elections are so strange. In elections up here, we have one thing to vote for at a time: our representative, or whatever issue for a referendum. We don't have 12 different posts and 8 laws to vote for at once.
Goddamnit voting for Governor, 3rd Assistant Dog Catcher (Small Breed), a referendum on a major issue that matters, and a referendum on whether or not the State's official cigar size should be Corono or Robusto is my God given right as an 'Murican!
In all seriousness giving how apathetic we as a culture are to voting, probably best they get us to vote on as much as possible since we've already (metaphorically in some cases) put on our pants and driven to the voting station.
Apathetic about voting. I don't know if that has anything to do with being in campaing mode 100% of the time. Canadian elections last a couple of weeks and that's already taxing our tolerance.
It probably ties in with the American mentality of looking at other political groups as enemies to be defeated instead of opponents to win over, but I've beat that drum enough.

Voted early here in MA. Straight D ticket, except I voted for the libertarian for Auditor. There is a scandal here involving state troopers padding their overtime for extra pay and the current auditor was asleep at the wheel. The Globe endorsed the Libertarian, but I'm not sure enough people care about these down ballot officials enough to remove this incumbent. It's not hard to vote all D in a state where the R's don't even run a candidate for many of the positions.
The current governor is a Republican and is expected to win in a landslide, but he's basically a moderate Democrat compared to national politics.
Just responded to a poll today saying I was voting straight democratic.
I'm not though.

The current governor is a Republican and is expected to win in a landslide, but he's basically a moderate Democrat compared to national politics. It makes for some awkward moments when he is supposed to be supporting his fellow R's running for Congress seats, but they really don't have many policies in common.
I'm voting straight Democratic except for county coroner -- I have no idea why we vote for that, anyway
And that someone else is imaginary, only existing in the mind of William Seger
