Ed George Soros and others targetted by Terrorist

Don't know who he voted for, but it definitely wasn't Trump:

"For the record, I did not vote for him nor have I owned, worn or even touched a MAGA hat.” -- Robert Bowers

"A voter registration for Robert D. Bowers states that he is an unaffiliated voter." -- Heavy.com News (Oct 27, 2018)

Sure, he hated Trump. That's why he murdered people he associated with aiding the migrant caravan, a Trump hot button topic. Actions speak louder than words.

No, Trump doesn't run with the Jew hating Louis Farrakhan crowd. Farrakhan is a left-winger.

Louis Farrakhan is Nation of Islam and a Black Supremacist.

Robert Bowers hates Muslims and is a White Supremacist.

I really don't see these two uniting over tea and discussing their shared hatred of the Jews.

To give him his dues, the indication is that he does hate Trump, but only because he believes that Trump is a puppet of the Jews and isn't extreme enough for him.

"Shooter hated Trump" is just a lame attempt at exculpating Trump:
It's like saying that someone hated the NRA for not lobbying for even less gun control:

might be correct, you you are still much closer to your target of animosity, ideologically, than to anyone else.

I don't think that Trump can be blamed as much for the shooter as he can be for the bomber.

With the Bomber we have a case of someone that has a Trump fixation who has acted on Trump's rhetoric of violence and repeated voicing that the Democrats and the Media are enemies of the USA.

With the shooter we have a case of an extreme rightwing racist white nationalist and supremacist who went psycho. That might have been aided by the atmosphere that Trump's rhetoric has created, as we are seeing more White Nationalist activity, but it can't be conclusively tied together as such, the guy might have cracked and done it regardless of who was President.

The shooter was a regular poster to Gab, a site that the more radical conservatives are heading to after claims that Facebook and Twitter were becoming more anti-conservative.

nytimes said:
[The shooter] also extended his anger to the president, whom he accused of not going far enough to achieve the political goals [the Shooter] wanted.

Days before the shooting, he wrote: “Trump is a globalist, not a nationalist. There is no #MAGA as long as there is a” — he inserted a slur for Jews — “infestation.”

Yeah. The trumpkins can yell "he doesn't mean that!!!" all they want, but when you sell these narratives to an entire population, out of all these people you will find a handful that buy it, hook, line, sinker -- and with a country the size of the USA, that handfull is neccessarily going to be a big one. Out of those, some will decide to act on the narrative.

Here in Norway, the July 22nd massacre which killed 77 people happened because conspiracy theorists on the far right propagated the narrative that the Labour Party had a secret plan to bring about a Sharia regime in Norway. Only very few people actually believe this, but as we know, for a tragedy like Juy 22nd to happen, it takes only one.

Trump, with his endorsement of the fringe of Fox, as well as Breitbart, Druge, Infowars and worse and his denouncement of the rest of the Media has lent Presidential credibility of anti-Semitism and anti-Jewish conspiracy theories;
Far-right extremists are being told by the Q-Anon nutjobs that Trump is waging a secret war against the (((Deep State))) - and if you are the Pipe Bomber, you think he is wining and needs a bit of help, and if you are the Pittsburgh Shooter, you think he has lost and you need to execute the Final Solution yourself.

But both are part of a narrative Trump has help create and continues to popularize.

IMO there is a fundamental difference. I think that the Shooter likely would have acted even without Trump, in fact I'd suggest that he'd have acted sooner had Clinton been elected purely because his frustrations at nothing being done, and Liberals being in control would have pushed him to the edge sooner. Conversely I don't think that the Bomber would have acted at all had Trump not been elected, he would have just faded away and never have been heard from again.

I agree that Trump isn't the cause of the shooter starting his rampage - but he is very much responsible for what happens next: do we expect this administration to order the FBI to crack down on right-wing violent extremists now?
Because so far, Trump and his supporters act as if this was like any other shooting by a white guy: unavoidable bcs of 2nd Amendment and everyone should always be armed tot he teeth, so that we are all safe.

The 1st and 2nd Amendments make it very hard to do so, even if a Clinton Government was in power. Unless they are actively committing a crime, then you can't "crackdown" on them because you are violating their 1st amendment rights of speech and freedom of assembly. Similarly, unless they have been convicted of a felony, then removal of their guns would be a 2nd Amendment rights violation.

Unless you know of a way to crack down on them without violation of rights?

I have to disagree with this. The MAGAbomber did indeed have a fixation on Trump; but he was inspired by a more generalized rhetoric about Trump's political opponents being "enemies" and violence against liberals being acceptable. The Shooter, contrarily, was motivated by a much more specific Trump narrative: that this particular wave of refugees is in fact a "caravan" of "invaders" that was coming to do violence to Americans and steal national wealth. Yes, it was Donald Trump who first wound that depiction up and let it loose for his proxies and hangers-on to build off of. Indeed, after the massacre, that very same evening Lou Dobbs was on Fox News accusing "Soros" (Trump's and Trump-conservatives' present hands-off euphemism for "wealthy Jews") of funding the migrants.

So regardless of whether the shooter felt Trump was not rabid enough, he was nevertheless directly inspired to this particular action by a narrative Trump set in motion.
