Ahh. You want a signature bet because of the "likely to be MAGA Trumpkin" statement? That wasn't clear at all from your initial choice of what to quote.

With that said, nah. I meant what I said, namely that, given those qualities named, it's likely that the person's a MAGA Trumpkin. It's certainly not enough to declare confidently in this specific instance that they are, and I'm feeling too lazy to change my signature over something like that. We'll see what gets dug up on the person, either way.

ETA: Just to clarify further, the guy made it clear right before going in that he was doing it specifically because of Republican conspiracy theories about immigration. That's a pretty clear indication about the type of person he was. Also, apparently, he called himself an "Antifa hunter." It sounds like he may well not like Trump, specifically, though, in fair part because Trump was being too soft on Jews. That would leave him as a domestic terrorist right-winger who doesn't like everything about Trump, but is likely to be part of the MAGA crowd.

I am generally a supporter of the right to bear arms, but Trump statement after the synagogue shooting is just ridiculous.
ALl I can say if you have to around armed in order to go to church or synagogue, things have gotten so out of hand that pure anarachy is probably just around the corner.

I would say refusing to wear a maga hat over disagreement takes you out of the maga crowd.

And I allow for disagreement with Trump even within the Trumpkins, let alone the more general MAGA folk. The essential parts of both aren't unthinking blind loyalty to everything Trump, after all.

I've never seen him condemn bigotry against any other group. But, then, his favourite daughter doesn't belong to them.

Which is one of the reasons why I'm rather skeptical of it. Especially given that the guy made it pretty clear that this was explicitly motivated by Trumpkin anti-Immigration propaganda and hate.

To be clear, HIAS is the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society. Given the very nasty anti-immigration rhetoric used by Trump and co, it's pretty much impossible to separate them. Trump isn't so linked with an anti-Semitic stance, though. Hence, Trump pointedly emphasizing the anti-Semitic part and conveniently ignoring the anti-Immigrant part.

That is the overarching theme for being a Trumpkin. Even that doesn't mean that it requires complete blind loyalty, though. As for the more general MAGA, that doesn't actually require loyalty to Trump in the first place. Trump's just the one using it as a slogan. One can very much be part of MAGA and think that Trump's not going far enough for whatever reasons, as this guy apparently did.

Ehh. This is a very minor thing, honestly. He's just leaving a mess for someone else to take care of because of his own laziness and apathy. One that could be taken care of in 5 seconds or less by the next person to be there. At least this particular thing isn't deeply harmful to many, many people. And yes, that is an absurdly pathetic standard to be judging a US President's criticisms by.
