Trump Tweets

"The Caravans are a disgrace to the Democrat Party. Change the immigration laws NOW!"

Hmmmm...I wasn't aware that the Democratic Party sponsored or organized the caravan.

Oh, wait....it's a Trump tweet which is short for "Lying idiot at the keyboard".

Not even the state of Texas can provide a venue big enough to accommodate a Trump rally.

Who would have thought Texas would have so many people disloyal to their nation and willing to betray its most cherished ideals?

The joke of course is that only a small number of people will be attending that rally. 19,000 at most and my bet is they will be lucky to get half that. But that isn't stopping them from exaggerating how many people wanted to attend. 100,000 RSVPs my ass. If Trump could ever fill a 100,000 seat venue, he would do it in a second just to say he beat Obama.

The largest Trump rally had at most 30,000 people and that number may be an exaggeration. In contrast Obama had rallies in 2008 that had 30,000, 50,000, 70,000, even 100,000 people attend like they did in St Louis and 200,000 came to see him speak in Germany.

Trump has such an inferiority complex regarding Obama. And for once in his life, he's right.
I imagine it must have put a dent in his ego when he beat Obama, but so few showed up to his inaguration.

A “tailgate” is a party held in the parking lot before a sporting event, like a football (American sense) or baseball game. The name derives from dropping the tailgate of ones pickup and serving food, beer, etc. from there. Grilling is often involved. Informal and fun, but some people are pretty elaborate with their setups.

The Toyota Center in Houston doesn’t hold anything like 100,000 people, as has already been pointed out. The claim that it’s being used, or its parking lot is being used, for that many people is ridiculous. Of course, one should remember that Trump’s very first act as a presidential candidate involved a lie, as many of the people standing and applauding as he rode down the escalator to announce his candidacy were paid actors.

Thank you both :).

I was a Republican voter, but I feel strongly enough about it to be part of the (hopeful) upcoming Blue Wave.

I think it's admirable when people are willing to cross party lines when it becomes necessary. It would be hard for me to do. I used to use Cynthia McKinney as an example of the type of Democrat that would make me want to vote Republican. I do hope that you and other Republican voters making a change communicate your reasons to Republican politicians so they understand what cost them your votes.

I also think there are more than a few Republicans who are sickened by such tactics. I know you don't cut them any slack, but I simply can't believe they are all total dicks. You can be conservative and still believe in playing fair. I think.

More than a few?? That's the bar you set for evaluating the GOP. There's probably more than a few good people in the neo-Nazi movement, too.

I wish I could admire your optimism but I don't. I see damn little evidence that GOP vote suppression efforts are anything but successful.

I've seen a number of black leaders from various media sources stating their opinion that if you try to suppress black votes it stirs up plenty of memories that get them pissed off and ready to fight back.

I believe the same is occurring on some Indian reservations.

The only ethnic group I've not heard the same from are Hispanics.

I don't know if immigrant SE Asian voters have been suppressed as a group.

Trump Tweets

"Facebook has just stated that they are setting up a system to “purge” themselves of Fake News. Does that mean CNN will finally be put out of business?"

Well, if they do it by counting lies, it means Donnie will need to move to Instagram.

Both Texas A&M University and University of Texas Austin have stadiums that seat more than 100,000. And there are two or three others than can handle upwards of 90,000, including Rice University. JFK gave his we-choose-to-go-to-the-moon speech there (but it was nowhere close to full).

Too small, need something bigger. The numbers have swelled to over 100k and still growing.

So they hold it in a 18,000 seat arena?

I can't help wondering are you just lying to us, or are you lying to yourself as well?

Just over 100 000 is quite the plunge from the 1.5 million at his inaguration. I would've worried had I been a Trump supporter.

Trump to hold 'Big Texas Tailgater' ahead of Ted Cruz Houston rally

President Trump is planning a Texas-sized tailgate before his Houston Make-America Great Again rally scheduled at the Houston Toyota Center on Monday.

His campaign decided to host what they are calling the 'Big Texas Tailgater' after receiving 100,000 requests for tickets to the previously planned rally with Ted Cruz.

The tailgate party will feature food trucks, music by the Marcus Eldridge Band and the Will Carter Band, appearances by Trump Campaign spokespeople and big screens to see President Trump’s speech.

The tailgate will start in the afternoon and lead up to the rally, which is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

-- KXAN-TV (Oct 21, 2018)

People are already lined up for blocks. To prepare for the rally, police began barricading two blocks of streets surrounding the Toyota Center to vehicle traffic Sunday night. The streets are expected to remain closed until around 10:30 p.m. Monday.

It's gonna be one hell of a tailgate party.
