Yeah, damn those tribes for being able to decide who is a part of them and who isn't.

<snip>

Oddly enough, for those tribes which rely on the Dawes Rolls, as does the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, they are relying on decisions made by the white men who compiled and approved those rolls.

White men who were appointed by a White U.S, Congress, and who rejected three out of every five of the people who applied for inclusion. (Keeping in mind the fact that at that time few people would claim to be NA when they weren't. More likely they would be desperately trying to pass as White.)

She would've needed to address it sooner or later. Why not now?

Common wisdom says she should have.
Post-Trump wisdom disagrees.

Warren might not have a big shot at becoming the Nominee, but if she does she would get full support from the party - I think the Bernie crowd has learned their lesson.

Why do I get a sinking feeling that in a few years "I won't answer that question because you won't believe me anyway" is going to become a common political aversion tactic?

Yeah, damn those tribes for being able to decide who is a part of them and who isn't. Shame on them for having required lineage, or specific amounts of DNA to prove that. She felt she was NA. That should've been enough along with less than one percent (about as much NA as most people born in this country) If you cannot grasp how this would be offending to members of the NA community, it's time to do some soul searching on the issue.
When did she claim to be a member of a tribe? I must have missed that.

No question Warren fell into the Trump "Birth Certificate" trap - she should have ignored the issue.
But what is a smart strategy in the face of an innuendo campaign? Obama eventually released the birth certificate. Maybe she should have said she'd release her DNA results when Trump releases his tax returns.

Is the tax return issue anything that can be used as traction against Trump? There are so many ways to illustrate what a weasel he is but not a clear front-runner that really resonates.

Well, given that when the question is answered, it's derided as a stupid mistake, you might as well ignore the question entirely.

Donald Trump is a joke but he does have a gift for stand-up comedy and bullseye insult. He scored bullseye with 'Pocohontas' (and also, 'Rocketman' for Kim). That is seriously funny when you consider Warren's ludicrous claims.

Trump scored nothing with his use of 'Pocahontas' except to demonstrate, yet again, he has the emotional maturity of an 8 year old on the school playground.

On second thought, he did score a bull's eye with the his base. It doesn't take much. Lead them in a "lock her up" chant, insult women, claim there are "some fine people" among white supremacists, bully people, and throw around some childish, insulting names and they're as happy as pigs in mud.

You can't really, after her DNA test came back.

No one here has claimed she's an Indian. Warren claimed she had Indian lineage, which the DNA tests show she does. To say she doesn't when the test shows the DNA results are within the range of her family story is like claiming negative TMB tests indicate blood is present.

So you don't.

Guess trump can't remember what he said.

Cool pictures, say did you read anything from Native Americans regarding why Warren and her supporters are racist for deliberately appropriating and disregarding Native Americans rights?

Given your racist arguments, the answer is clearly no.

Type something about Trump tho, maybe another silly picture?

So, many Democrats aren't saying Fauxcahontas is an Indian, they are just saying she is not, not an Indian? This seems a bit pedantic to me. They're certainly saying something in this interminable thread to defend her claim of being a "woman of color" at Harvard, but one who recently presented a DNA test that proved she wasn't. I mean, this is over, as over as Amanda Knox's case should have been when they found Rudy Guede's DNA all over the crime scene and even inside the body. Yet, on we go....

BTW, a few conservative sites think Fauxcahontas' great great great grandfather actually rounded up Cherokees for the Trail of Tears. It seems possible, but the last actual connection to him is wobbly, so it's not something I would say has been shown to be true. Even if it was to be true, none of us has any control over what our ancestors did, so it's irrelevant, but the irony would certainly be strong.

Please quote someone who has said "Warren is an Indian/a Native American". That does not include saying she has NA lineage.

Your use of "Fauxcahontas" is neither clever nor witty. It's childish and foolish. But of course, if you prefer to present yourself as such, carry on.

Calling arguments racist based on what? An opinion from a republican, who thinks AI is more than a computer program, into the hype of AI. Funny, an opinion from some person. An opinion, cool. Does that change the DNA? Wow, Mark Inman, Ph.D. said so. cool.

You mean DNA is wrong? She has NA ancestors. The tribes can say what they want, it does not change her ancestors. It does not matter what tribes say about her DNA, unless they are on the OJ jury and ignore science. What do they say about trump calling her names?

Trumps best people are guilty - only the best

silly - when will trump pay up? DNA proves her family story. I know some from OKC who have NA ancestors, like Warren.

when will trump pay up on what he said - he will quibble, and the cult will support him

https://i.imgflip.com/2jtdpb.jpg best people, the mob of trump

From your source -
Personally, I don’t think we should call her Pocahontas. I believe it fetishizes Native American culture, and it does so in a negative, undeserving tone. - Mark Inman, Ph.D. said so
another opinion, think trump cares

No surprise, no effort was given to read the articles to understand why the claims by Warren and her supporters were wrong and racist.

DNA gives data, how that data was used is not scientific, this has been explained REPEATEDLY. Further how Warren and her delusional followers are using that data is racist.

Oh well, given her supporters failure to read anything I have posted, I look forward to Warren Truthers posting links to more “funny pictures.”

Except that the DNA evidence is consistent with Warren's family history.

She didn't use her family stories about Native American ancestry to further herself - but she obviously was proud of it (hence the cookbook in 1984).

She used one of the biggest DNA testing companies available. It supports her story.

You need to explain how this matters and your reasons for doubting her story. I understand that it might be difficult for you to realise that some people might actually be more honest than Trump, but that is the case.

According to Aunt Bea, Pappaw had high cheekbones:
"I still have a picture on my mantel at home, and it's a picture my mother had before that, a picture of my grandfather. And my Aunt Bea has walked by that picture at least a 1,000 times, remarked that he —her father, my Pappaw— had high cheekbones like all of the Indians do."
