Saudi journalist disappears in embassy, believed murdered

And trump believes it.

What a total piece of crap that sick and demented man is.

Any supporter who isn’t disgusted by this, is a sick, demented, piece of crap as well.
What makes you think Trump believes it? He just has to act like he does. Meanwhile he's sick with envy that other heads of state get to just kill journalists they don't like.

If you consider all the other things Saudi Arabia does, it's interesting that this story of murdering a journalist is causing such a stir. I'm glad of that, but meanwhile they behead people for sorcery.

The man is the chief diplomat of the United States.

His words tell the world what he believes.

The deep recesses of his innermost intentions don’t matter on that stage.

That stinks of nonsense. First, it assumes that Jared has any awareness of anything whatsoever. Second, The Evil Prince already had Khashoggi on his enemies' list and wouldn't need The Vacant Stare to pass along his name.

You seem skeptical about the likelihood that Jared and Ivanka were part of the Saudi hit squad.

No. I could easily imagine both of them being involved in brutal murders.

I cannot, on the other hand, see either of them passing along actionable intelligence unless they did so accidentally...or at the behest of their Russian paymasters.

Well that wraps up everything quite nicely now doesn't it folks? He accidentally died in a fist fight and of course they had no choice but to cut and dispose of his corpse instead of calling the emergency services. It's what everyone would've done.

Hopefully people can now move on and just forget about this regrettable little incident. Too much is at stake to just throw it all away because some guy died... like those billions of precious dollars. And jobs!

Plan A - pretend you're helping
Plan B - concede that the people on cam are Saudis. But they were just tourists (where have we heard that before?)
Plan C - concede his death. Reason...unproven and could be unprovable. Nearly airtight case ya got there.

Really? It isn't because they murdered someone on foreign soil? It's their embassy but that doesn't allow them carte blanche to kill. Or does it?

Yeah but wasn't Jared absolutely begging for a loan because of his moneysink investment in 666 Park Avenue? Weren't the Saudis teasing him with the possibility of bailing him out?

Is it so unbelievable that they basically traded intelligence for the money?

Not really. Check out, Active Measures. Jared's getting all the money from russia.

Nation states have carte blanche to kill on their own soil right up until doing so has negative consequences, either internally or externally. In this case, there will obviously be no consequences originating in the US since Trump has said that Saudi Arabia's money means more than the life of a Saudi journalist, even if that journalist is a permanent US resident.

What's with the "news" on CNN or BBC or what FAKE NEWS outlet it was that the Saudis were about to "confess" that it was an interrogation gone wrong? Must have been two or more days since those anonymous officials made the prediction. Has it happened yet (serious question)?
The BBC has a website so you can check for news by visiting https://www.bbc.co.uk/news

And are starving half the population of a country to death..

nope.
Kushner and Trump made a united front against Qatar unless they bailed out Kushner for the 666 property.
The details are, of course, murky. This Snopes "unproven" article has some links:
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/trump-kushner-qatar/

I find it quite likely that in their effort to get strengthen "their" Saudi, Kushner shared top secret intel about rivals with MBS; and Kasshoggi might have been on that list.

Trump's admiration for murderous dictators like Putin, Kim Jong Il, Duterte, and the House of Saud is unbounded. They govern the way he'd like to.

If they wanted to do away with an opponent, they could have just killed him.

There was no reason to secretly torture him - except for giggles.

However, if they wanted opponents to know, then it makes sense.

MBS might have been after offshore bank accounts or signature on transfer of property: he had other people tortured, one to death, during his purge of rivals.

Trump is a through and through bully. A friend of mine pointed out that whereas bullies are typically confident, nasty and mean when dealing with people weaker than themselves, they become whiny cowards in the presence of other bullies they see as more powerful than they are. Trump may not so much "admire" as feel inferior to these "strongmen" and feels the need to kiss their butts to fit where he perceives his place in the overall bully hierarchy.

Torture is often a tool of interrogation. They might have thought, correctly or not, that he could give up information about other government opponents. It seems pretty obvious that a 15-man team traveling with a bone saw never intended to let him go, or let anyone know what happened to him.
