Lessons to be learned from the Kavanaugh Hearing

You think I'm wrong? Look at what happened when Ted Cruz tried to go out to dinner with his wife while the hearings were gong on. That's Kavanagh's life now.

I never said you were wrong that this will happen. I'm saying you'll regret it if you're right. Your opponents will learn from you. This isn't a tactic that you can confine to your side.

I know I'm right. In fact, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and all the mainstream Dems will tell people to stop and not do it and it will still happen. Here's the thing, DC and its suburbs are the bluest places in the country. The people who hate Kavanagh can harass him with impunity because there's no corresponding group of conservative activists to go after their members.

Why? Did the two sides sign a treaty, keeping these shenanigans to the capital?

We also learned that peaceful protests are "mobs" but only if it's libruls. Nazi mobs consist of "fine people."

Oh, and that it's okay to drive over librul "mobs". https://katu.com/news/local/driver-plows-through-protesters-in-downtown-portland

If someone impedes your way intentionally and blocks the roadway they are breaking the law. Frankly, they deserve to get hit (regardless of partisanship or extremism) Follow our laws. They are there for a reason.

Also, holding people hostage, or kidnapping them is also illegal. You cannot stop people and expect them to be OK with it. If I feared someone was a danger to myself or my family in that situation -- you're damn right they are going to get moved by my bumper. This is not even beginning to mention emergencies and people needing to reach places for them. It's guerrilla warfare tactics, and it should not be tolerated.

You will discover to your regret that the left has soft targets outside of DC, and even DC is not a walled fortress.

Hilited:
Is there any rational reason to have posted that statement? A car is a great honking huge machine made of metal. You can kill someone with one of them - have you heard? You are required, by law, not to kill people or do them bodily harm with your car. Are you also getting out there and running down jaywalkers, or is it just protesters speaking for a cause you don't like?

The hyperbole is pure ********. This was a small handful of protesters and took all of ninety seconds to clear the corner. By law, in Portland ANY pedestrian has a right of way at ANY corner whether it's marked as a crosswalk or not.

Perhaps a vigilante-supporting driver like yourself should have just plowed into Mr. Lexus. I mean, he was disobeying the laws and deserved it, right?

You conveniently left out this important passage in your highlight.

"If I feared someone was a danger to myself or my family in that situation -- you're damn right they are going to get moved by my bumper"

In that situation if someone is endangering you or your family you can protect yourself. Also, more people need to be arrested for blocking the roadways and some of them for either kidnapping or holding people hostage. This should not be taken lightly.

You think it's a joke until someone gets crushed because they were stupid enough to beat on someones car or threaten them in some way while they have a line of cars stopped. More Darwin awardees.

What do you mean they will "learn"? Looks to me like some of them have already mastered it. Of course, it's your prerogative to maintain your ignorant belief that only liberals stoop to such disruptive behaviors; I can't teach you if you won't listen! LOL!

On Sept. 24, Patrick posted that he “bought 12 boxes of hollow point 50 caliber bullets.” He went on to say he has “plenty of ammo for my sniper rifle and bought a suppressor from a private individual so I don’t have to wait on it .. have made sure all my arrangements have been made and care for my dogs because I will not be coming home if Kav is not confirmed I will kill those I believe are responsible and track down their families and kill them too ..and have taken extra precautions and added more supplies in the tunnel under my house in case local or federal law enforcement tries to stop me .. follow in my footsteps .. I refuse to let democrats [sic] ruin this country.”

Good lord almighty. You think the guy in the Lexus felt kidnapped or held hostage by a passing group of protesters? You think he was in fear of his life so he plowed down the nasty kidnappers in an effort to escape?

A bystander took pictures of the car's license plate and the man in the car at the scene. His pictures also shows the protesters were in a crosswalk with the green light. This FB page has not been authenticated, but here is a link:

I didn't conveniently leave it out. I conveniently highlighted the part I wanted to highlight and discuss. The hyperbole in the second paragraph was simply hyperbole. There was no threat to the guy. You don't see any footage the rest of us don't see.

You made a reprehensible statement. It is illegal to behave as you proposed. Can I come run you down, now. I mean, you deserve it for promoting that people break the law. By your standards, you're now fair game.

Here's a suggestion. Rethink your statement and then withdraw it.

Holy jumpin' Jesus on a pogo stick. You really do spout that uber right wing reactionary stuff. Running people over with your car just because they're inconveniencing you? Do you really think that it's at all moral that a protester using nothing more than their body to block a one-tonne, 100+ horse power vehicle is deserving to be run down?

You say that impeding vehicular traffic is against the law. Such folk better obey the law, you warn. Well, the law also stipulates that drivers can't just plow through 'em, either. So as much as you're put out by their antics, your desire to have a law that lets you just ram you way through does not yet exist (thankfully). So try to dial back on your black-hearted fantasies.

I have learned that Hunter S. Thompson was right when he said that 'politics are the ultimate bloodsport'.

Nobody steps into that arena and walks away undamaged.

Unless you are a an ambitious sociopath, stay the hell away from it.
