Avenatti has no chance whatsoever to get the Democratic nomination - but like others (Andrew Yang), he might run as an independent, spoiling the Democratic vote and thereby giving Trump another term.

This whole two-week effort has been a calculated and orchestrated political hit, fueled with apparent pent-up anger about President Trump and the 2016 election, fear that has been unfairly stoked about my judicial record, revenge on behalf of the Clintons and millions of dollars in money from outside left-wing opposition groups.

Thing is... RBG told the truth about Trump. He IS eminently unqualified to be the president of the USA by several country miles, and has proven how unprepared, capricious and dangerous he is.

By comparison, Kavanaugh, a judge in a US court and in what was essentially the job interview for the SCOTUS, told a whopping pack of lies based on blatant political bias and demonstrated his 100% unsuitability to serve. Not only did most of those watching wonder how the hell he had risen as far as he had, 2000 law professors - his teachers and mentors - were moved to publicly say so as well. And the collective righteous anger of the majority of the US female population is yet to be felt.

But hey. Let's drag out and misconstrue some comments to see if that will justify your happiness. You know it won't, though, don't you. ;)

The US has by far the highest incarceration rate in the world. Red States demand to keep their three-strikes-laws, even though they are clearly insane.
And the Trump administration has canceled the Obama ruling to stop dealing with for-profit prisons because of their abysmal record.

In other words: you don't know whether the Right won't try their hardest to lock more critics up: it is what Trump has been demanding since day one.

To his credit, Kavanaugh didn't like liberals to start with. But I wonder how he feels about them now, after being publicly vilified and smeared by the radical-alt-left fanatics. Gee, it would be a real shame if he let that influence his deliberations.

If he would let it influence his decisions he's supposed to recuse himself. Of course, knowing the base and vile content of his character he won't. Only an honorable judge would do that and there's clearly nothing honorable about him.
 
Ah, remember the good old days when Kavanaugh sneered and turned his back on the father of a girl slain in the Parkland massacre? We were all so innocent then.
 
BK was going to appear on all the news talk rounds this morning, but he's too hung over after last night's celebration party.

I always laugh at people from either party who suggest that the obliteration of the opposition would be a good thing. And it might be. For about 5 minutes. Then the realities of one party rule starts taking effect. Because power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. You start shutting down dissent and abusing the power you have. Checks against corruption and oppressive rules disappear.

And it doesn't seem to matter what the initial ideology was, the result is alway despotism.
