Well, this politcal cartoon sure is spot on.

Not if he misremembered the change.

Oh come now. Everyone remembers when they could first legally drink, especially someone who liked to drink as much as Kav has admitted he did.
That's scraping the bottom of the keg for an excuse.

They grandfathered in legal drinkers at the time the age went up.

Evidence?

ETA: Never mind, you were just talking out of your butthole

The legal drinking age was raised from 18 to 21 in 1984

In July 1982 (the time in question, at at which he was known to be a heavy drinker), Kavanaugh was 17 years 5 months, so he was below the legal drinking age at that time.

ergo: He lied

Most people didn’t transition while the laws were changing, or live in an area with three separate jurisdictions with different transitions at different times. And Kavanaugh could in fact legally drink at 18. He just had to be in Virginia or DC to do so, and both places were nearby and probably easily accessible to him and his friends.

When did Kavanaugh say he could legally drink at 17? The claim above is that he said he could legally drink at 18.

You are trying too hard to find a way out for his lying. Every single one of those students who drank would have known when it was legal for them to drink and where. Kav never stipulated that he was only legal in VA or DC. That was not "misremembering" or "forgetting".

He never did. But smartcooky never claimed Kav did either. Smartcooky only said he was 17 when the law changed.
“The drinking age as I noted was 18, so the seniors were legal,” he said. “Senior year in high school, people were legal to drink.” In fact, the legal drinking age in Maryland, where he lived, went up while he was in high school, and he was outside its boundaries. The state’s drinking age rose to 21 on July 1, 1982, seven months before his 18th birthday.

If I were being picky, I'd mention that "seniors" who could drink would only include those who turned 18 while seniors. My sister didn't turn 18 until after she'd graduated from high school. Kav was born Feb. 12 which means he wasn't 18 until about half way through his senior year. But I'd bet he was drinking anyway.

I consider attacking a 10 year old girl solely for the purposes of promoting a political/partisan character assassination pretty depraved.

I get that it is fair game for the Leftists.

How is that cartoon attacking a 10 year old girl?

TBD is referring to a cartoon no one has seen which shows Kavanaugh's daughter praying to God to forgive her Dad for raping a women.

Of course, we could drop a hundred cartoons of Hillary Clinton eating baby-faces and running a pedophile ring, if you want to talk about depravity.

I never said that. Nor do I think that.
But it is just another example of him not being truthful.
I don't know if he claimed he was legal. It was another obfuscation. This is why I rely on transcripts - as these stories develop it is easy for subtle changes to creep into the narrative. For the most part he seemed to me to be trying to avoid lying under oath. Don't know if he completely succeeded.

ETA: Off topic, but IMO all of these threads could be consolidated. It would just make one monster thread though.

When you stand before the Senate, raise your right hand, and swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, it is!!

How short the memory of Republicans is. They thought telling lies to Congress was evil when Bill Clinton did it. Now, lies don't matter since it's a Republican operative they are trying to install into the SCOTUS.

You seem not to be aware that the wording has been changed in recent times:

"... and swear to tell the truthiness, the whole truthiness and nothing but the truthiness...."
