This still rubs me the wrong way and I'm not exactly sure why, but it is such naked partisanship. "Naked" might not be the best choice of words.

There's a very good reason he appeared on Fox News and not on a far more balanced outlet: it was never about convincing the country that he's innocent rather it was about convincing republicans and republican leaning voters that he didn't do it.

They can't afford to lose enthusiasm and public support for something that was supposed to be their major break.

Maybe K should refer to his friend Judge's book when describing his drinking habits back then. There's also his Yale roommate who's description of K's drinking is more than occassionally "having too much beer".

Whoa...he's now claiming that the 'Renate alumni" was intended to show affection and that she was one of them? Yeah, riiiiiiiiight. I'd like to have the other Renate alumni explain under oath what that was.

His presenting all these women who vouched for him really means nothing. From the descriptions I've read, he only became aggressive when he was drunk. That's not uncommon thus the term "he's a mean drunk". I know my step-grandfather only beat up my grandmother when he was drunk. Other than that, he was a pillar of the community. I have no doubt that, when not drunk, he behaved well.
 
Doh! Was avoiding the news then Mom turned it on - to a Spanish-language station which I can just about stand. Simultaneous translation, Kavanaugh keeps wrinkling his nose like a bunny rabbit.

ETA: She might change the channel at any moment. I don't want to watch any of this. She was riveted by the Watergate hearings.
 
I couldn't watch Ford's testimony. With Kavanaugh, he is coming across as needlessly slippery and ranty. He can't give a calm, straight answer to save his soul.

Though that often happens with hearings, it seems.

I see they only have copies, I wonder what the ink looks like in the original?

All of the GOP senators are old white guys. They really, desperately needed a woman to question Ford, and now they need to do the same for K. Its not like they'd be giving him a hard time anyway.

By the same scum who refused to even consider confirming Obama's legitimate choice a couple of years ago.We already knew what they were like as a result of that. This will simply be confirmation.

In his testimony, K said he only knew of Keyser and that he can't rule out having met her on an occasion. So Keyser would, in all likelihood, not remember Kavanaugh at the party whether he was there or not.
