One person did come forwards and say that it was quite a well-known story at their school. She did delete her statement and refuse to do press, due to the harassment she got, but she didn't retract it and, indeed, said that she still believed Ford. So that's one person who's come forwards, albeit briefly.

And sadly all over the alt-right blogosphere they are touting it as a woman who made a false accusation retracted it.

Ford's lawyer seems to think she is the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee:

Here are her demands:
Katz also said that Senators should be the questioners, not outside counsel. During their call with the committee Ford's lawyers outlined these demands, according to a source close to the process:

Ford will not appear any sooner than next Thursday; No questions to be asked at hearing by any outside counsel -- only by Senators; Mark Judge must be subpoenaed; Kavanaugh would testify first, then Ford would testify, and Kavanaugh would have no opportunity to respond or rebut; The Friday deadline for her to provide written statement before the hearing would be waived; Provide adequate security; Only one pool camera in hearing room;
Ford and Kavanaugh allotted the same amount of time to talk.

I trust they will tell Katz to **** off.
Republicans thus far have shown themselves to be completely disreputable with regards to the Judicial nomination process. The failure to provide documents (and when they were provided, were given as a last-minute data dump that could not be processed in time for the hearings). Republican senators showing disrespect to the Democrats (talking over democrats, banging his gavel during democratic questioning), a failure to allow the FBI to investigate the issue.

Ford and her lawyer have every reason to suspect the republicans will not treat her fairly over the issue. I think its perfectly reasonable to want to make sure they won't railroad her. Thus the demands. If she suspects the republicans will play dirty, she's better off not participating at all (and leaving Kavanaugh's nomination under a cloud of suspicion) than to play along, get treated like dirt during the hearings, then have the republicans claim "See, Kavanaugh's clean. We let her speak".

Why will they tell him to **** off ?

Which of her demands do you have a problem with, and why ?

BREAKING: “We’ll do it on Wednesday, we expect the accuser before the accused and we do intend to have the counsel do the questioning,” the senator said, summing up the Republicans’ stance. The party is OK with limiting the hearing to one camera as requested by Ford and has also “acquiesced” to Ford’s request that Kavanaugh not be in the same room as her, the senator said.

Meh.

Oh look, you were wrong and you can't be bothered to engage in an actual discussion.

Now I remember why I don't try and engage with you more often.

Similarly, Trump should also ask the FBI to investigate the allegations of domestic abuse leveled against Congressman Keith Ellison -- currently running for Minnesota Attorney General. Just like Christine Ford, Ellison's accuser (Karen Monahan) deserves to be "heard, believed, and supported."

I know nothing about it, or whether the FBI is usually tasked with running background checks on people running for AG, but I'm all for all such accusations being investigated thoroughly. Is there any reason you'd think I wouldn't be?

Has anyone argued against this? Not that I've seen. I, for one, would have no problem with this.

It's not racist. It's a description of one man.

I'm not sure you're clear on what racism is. Do you really think that calling a single black person a n-word somehow escapes the accusation of racism?

In any case, it's a silly thing to say, as if a black man should necessarily vote or think a certain way or be labeled 'white'. In fact, it's racist against BOTH black people and white people, because in this case the 'white' part of the oreo is seen as a negative.

Trump is indeed showing his ignorance.

Roughly 2/3rds of sexual assaults are never reported to the police. And when they are, they very rarely result in an actual conviction in court.

Assuming that "if it was a bad assault it would have been reported" shows that Trump is just ignorant of statistics. (Not that that will matter to Trump and his base of supporters.)

When I was in my early twenties, in a club parking lot, a man forced his way into my car as I was getting in. He attempted to put a rag or something over my face. I fought him off as I had no doubt that his intention was to rape me, or worse. Thankfully, I only got a black eye out of it. I did not report it to the police nor did I even tell my parents.

Trump is an idiot for saying something so stupid. But we already know that. Or, at least, most of us do. Some will agree with Dear Leader.

The only reason the FBI is involved with Kavanaugh is that they conduct background checks of federal appointees. They are not running a criminal investigation. Ellison isn't nominated for anything. A domestic violence allegation would be a matter for local police, if the complainant press charges. So far she has not.

Fun fact: Maryland has no statute of limitations on certain felonies, including attempted rape. Nothing prevents Ford from filing a report about Kavanaugh with Montgomery County police, who would be obligated to investigate throughly.
