I heard the other day that Kavanaugh, if confirmed, will be the second person from Georgetown Prep currently on the Supreme Court.

So two supreme court judges from the same high school.

This is what Trump was talking about when he said, "Drain the swamp", right?
He and Gorsuch. On the other hand all but one of them (RGB) got there law degree from either Yale or Harvard and she started at Harvard and transferred to Columbia.

Edit to add, 4 Catholics, 4 Jews and an Episcopalian(Catholic light).

The America of the 1940s is rolling over in their graves.

Ready for a super scorching hot take?

Whelan's theory is correct. Someone (PJ? The unidentified girl?) told someone in a Senator's office that everything in Ford's story is correct, except Kavanaugh was not there, it was another guy. The Senator's office leaked it to Whelan.

That is today's incendiary hot take. Discuss among yourselves.
If I read it on the internet it must be true.

Ford's lawyer seems to think she is the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee:

Here are her demands:

Katz also said that Senators should be the questioners, not outside counsel. During their call with the committee Ford's lawyers outlined these demands, according to a source close to the process:

Ford will not appear any sooner than next Thursday;
No questions to be asked at hearing by any outside counsel -- only by Senators;
Mark Judge must be subpoenaed;
Kavanaugh would testify first, then Ford would testify, and Kavanaugh would have no opportunity to respond or rebut;
The Friday deadline for her to provide written statement before the hearing would be waived;
Provide adequate security;
Only one pool camera in hearing room;
Ford and Kavanaugh allotted the same amount of time to talk.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, had originally set a Friday deadline for Ford to submit testimony and had scheduled a hearing for Monday. The Judiciary Committee has not yet given a public response to the conditions listed by Ford's attorneys.

I trust they will tell Katz to **** off.

Photos embedded in tweet. I should make clear that the tweet misrepresents the contents a little.

"No means yes"? That's a bit anachronistic. The whole "No means no" movement surely started quite a bit later, so "No means yes" seems a little weird for a motto.

Can I just say, by the way, that "Yes means yes" is a stupid motto? Sorry, a bit off-topic, but of course "yes means yes." The question ought to be whether other things also mean yes. Sorry, little logic rant here.

I think the point of the "Yes Means Yes" campaign is to answer that question in a definitive way.

"There's a lot of ways to confirm consent besides a literal, explicit, 'yes'."

"There's also a lot of rape excused as 'but I thought I had consent'."

"Yeah, it's a difficult problem."

"Not really. If you need a yes, get a yes. Don't get a 'but I thought going to a party and getting drunk means yes."

"So... You're saying that yes means yes?"

"Yes."

Why will they tell him to **** off ?

Which of her demands do you have a problem with, and why ?

:cool:

One step at a time.

Admitting the attack happened is the first step.

BREAKING: “We’ll do it on Wednesday, we expect the accuser before the accused and we do intend to have the counsel do the questioning,” the senator said, summing up the Republicans’ stance. The party is OK with limiting the hearing to one camera as requested by Ford and has also “acquiesced” to Ford’s request that Kavanaugh not be in the same room as her, the senator said.

Meh.

Trump tweets

"Judge Brett Kavanaugh is a fine man, with an impeccable reputation, who is under assault by radical left wing politicians who don’t want to know the answers, they just want to destroy and delay. Facts don’t matter. I go through this with them every single day in D.C."

"I have no doubt that, if the attack on Dr. Ford was as bad as she says, charges would have been immediately filed with local Law Enforcement Authorities by either her or her loving parents. I ask that she bring those filings forward so that we can learn date, time, and place!"

"The radical left lawyers want the FBI to get involved NOW. Why didn’t someone call the FBI 36 years ago?"

It's really cute that Trump thinks that a high school sexual assault would've been an FBI matter thirty-six years ago.

Needs to be pointed out, because it is seemingly "conservatives" sore point.
:)

It's because I'm sick of this crap. I'm disgusted that just like Thomas*, another man that is demeaning toward women is going to be appointed to the SCOTUS.

*Thomas is an oreo for all intents and purposes.
