The "ally" in question is one Ed Whelan, who went right ahead and suggested that it was, in fact, a specific second person, and constructed a theory around this.
This other person is not a public figure, which makes this a Bad Idea Indeed.
Whelan has since apologized profusely, whether out of shame or because he saw the inevitable defamation suit is anyone's guess.

Similarly, Trump should also ask the FBI to investigate the allegations of domestic abuse leveled against Congressman Keith Ellison -- currently running for Minnesota Attorney General. Just like Christine Ford, Ellison's accuser (Karen Monahan) deserves to be "heard, believed, and supported."

What's in those emails? I've say an anonymous internet post that said they include a chain of emails demonstrating the DNC fabricated the live story of this Ford women in a complex plan to derail the Kavanaugh nomination because he has evidence of the pizzagate conspiracy.

Trump is indeed showing his ignorance.
Roughly 2/3rds of sexual assaults are never reported to the police. And when they are, they very rarely result in an actual conviction in court.
Assuming that "if it was a bad assault it would have been reported" shows that Trump is just ignorant of statistics. (Not that that will matter to Trump and his base of supporters.)
