Cont: Brilliant Light Power Going To Market - Free Energy Generator Part 3

They outsourced some engineering (not commercial) development to Columbia Tech. CT was not able to rectify problems related to the large heat differentials involved using molten silver. So currently BLP is doing the engineering in house and using gallium instead of silver.

so...as usual they make big claims when even you admit they don't have clue what they are doing?

I hope they aren't paying you (allegedly) for such sterling PR 'help'.

Remember your task is to make readers think their is a remote possibilty that after 30 years of continual failure that Mills ISN'T a scam but a lone radical genius taking on the evil power mongers of America....ololololoo

"The SunCell commercialization engineering mature enough to be outsourced to Columbia Tech, Boston MA. Equipment is being fabricated, procured, shipped".

What makes you think I ever said that 'they' don't have a clue about what 'they' are doing?

The SunCell is progressing quite well since its inception in 2014, a testament to Dr. Mills and the staff at BLP.

You have a problem with facts?

Are you alleging as fact that the flask in the video was fabricated using Pyrex 7740? I, on the other hand, am alleging you used your Google Fu to find a high-temperature Pyrex product to continue your spin-doctoring and apologetics without any actual knowledge of facts regarding the flask's construction.

I'm talking about the capabilities of Pyrex 7740. If you took that as an inference that I know that the flasks at BLP were made of Pyrex 7740, too bad. They very well may be, but I don't know for sure.

I was responding in the context of a claim that Pyrex softens at 550C, which is simply not true for all Pyrex.

No, it is not progressing well. Remember the lie you were caught in just a few posts back, that commercial development hadn't been projected? What happened to the field units that were announced to be six months away in October of 2016? The pilot units due in 2017? The commercial launch at the start of this year?

None of that actually happened and you just described them as back to the drawing board. How in the world can that be interpreted as progressing well?

And for crying out loud, the whole reinvention as the SunCell was to cover up over a decade of prior failures to deliver.

Point me to the source where 'they' stated all the engineering problems had been solved. Or are you not implying the word "all"? Yet, you are implying it.

I didn't write "all", just as Mills didn't.

Mills' presentation at SCTE Energy 2020 (Sept 2017):
The SunCell light (power) source has overcome key engineering challenges in prototype development.
...
Design to prevent cell and injector melting
...
The SunCell commercialization engineering mature enough to be outsourced to Columbia Tech, Boston MA. Equipment is being fabricated, procured, shipped.

Nov 2017:
We are making great progress. I just filed patens on a new MDH thermodynamic cycle that is amazing. Engineering program is progressing well.

Update from Mills (Feb 2018):
Invention cycle went through another turn. The new design is awesome. Worth the short delay. New patents filed. Better product, easier to manufacture, install, and service, shortened field trial phase, and likely more revenue in the long run.

Second Quarter Update (April 4, 2018):
Advanced SunCell® design completed and patent applications are filed.

In the 3rd Quarter 2018 Update there is no mention of further engineering being needed in the core SunCell. Instead there are slides with titles like "How the Thermal SunCell® Works".

@jhrowell, note the dates in this link, especially in regards to your Sept 2017 quotes.

https://www.libertariannews.org/2016/10/28/brilliant-light-power-achieves-self-sustaining-reaction/

From that it sounds like all of the problems were solved and it would be a short wait to production devices.

BLP has a history of getting others to write glowing descriptions of their progress. It gives them plausible deniability when they eventually fail to deliver.

Its best attribute is its thermal shock resistance. It is intended for heat applications.

http://www.quartz.com/pxprop.pdf

PYREX Code 7740 glass is designed for use in all laboratory glassware requiring very high resistance to strong acids, alkalis and products intended for use in heat applications such as autoclaves, hot plates and open flame.

Pyrex 7740 has a soften temperature point around 820C not 550C. It has a strain point of 510C however so prolonged exposure to such temperatures is not good of course.

That PDF has service limit temps listed. They are relatively low for a Sun Cell's supposed operating temps.

Reading up to clarify, it seems soften was the wrong term.

I should have referred to the glass transition point.

Transition point is a reversible softening point, the soften point is not reversible, apparently.

And we have other docs on 7740 glass:

From that link:::::

So looking at the notes, Jan 13, 2017 is a big day because that’s the day the first geodesic Dense Receiver Array will be completed (gDRA). The gDRA is the photovoltaic dome that wraps around the black body light source.

Once that’s done, we could see a self-sustaining prototype generator produce power for the first time not too long after that. So perhaps a fully working prototype will be wheeled out for a public demo sometime near the end of January or in February.

Almost like a comedy routine.....

From that earlier link

Pilot plants projected for mid- to late 2009

Hey only 10 years off plus and minus a few months......lol

RecoveringYuppy and jrhowell you guys are doing a great job showing how BLP is following it usual pathway to failure - while claiming success - thanks

What I wonder is, when Mills' SunCell is proven technology in the mainstream, will skeptics here continue to bemoan the fact that Dr. Mills didn't get there sooner as he anticipated with previous iterations of hydrino technology? Or will they instead realize that in all those years, despite lack of predicted commercialization, he was nonetheless successful at increasing the power density of the hydrino reaction from year to year, from one technique to another, and acquiring the experience to finally hit on a method to achieve massive reaction kinetics and power density, in an environment known as the SunCell? Time will tell.

What I wonder is, when BLP finally burns through their investor cash and shuts down will the true believers still keep their faith even in the face of ultimate proven failure?

Time will tell.

Time has told.
IF mills were in any way right, someone with actual engineering skills would have produced a method to harness that power about 100 years ago, as his proposed process would have shown up in physics experiments, if not earlier than that.
Will you ever acknowledge he is a fraud though? I doubt it, you keep taking each delay and failed deadline as a proof of his brilliance rather than his incompetence or money stealing action it really is.

Keep wondering, but pace yourself. You’re going to have to eke out that wonder for the rest of your life.
