There's a great opportunity here for fantasy and science fiction writers. Throw together a story about Atlantis or a civilization at the center of the Earth and put "Deep State" in the title. Trump is guaranteed to publicly endorse it. It's not as if he'll read it to see what it's actually about.

But when prices drop, the economic feasibility of U.S. oil goes belly up and work stops...

Who knew the intricacies of oil production in the context of a global marketplace could be so difficult?

Why am I not surprised he doesn't understand the entire purpose of a monopoly?

We can't reliably do so, I think, for earlier hurricanes (I could be wrong), but this is a new measure. In New Orleans, we measured the dead by immediate, not long term, effects.

That does suggest that there's an inconsistency in comparing the effects of Maria to other storms.

Did other storms leave the power out for several months? The long term impact of Maria was not consistent with other storms.
