Look. You have as much chance of convincing us that atheism is behind the atrocities committed by the Chinese totalitarian dictatorship than we have of convincing you that clouds are made of cupcakes. Why are you bothering?Oh dear! Let me fix that for you!
Have you noticed that TBD has stopped referring to the alleged Atheist Bible?!

Midichlorians??I dunno, he believes in invisible beings that control the universe so............

Then again I ask: Why are you bothering?I know I have zero chance of convincing anyone who would write that of anything, and I am totally good with it.
Then again I ask: Why are you bothering?

The perpetuation of actual human rights abuses by seeking deliberately to distract people from their true causes is ABSOLUTELY more appalling than the human rights abuses themselves, ESPECIALLY when it is done in the name of a hateful ideology.well, obviously, because assertions like this:
"Yeah, it is. But the idea that you think that this is characteristic of atheism rather than an activity of the totalitarian government of China is even more appalling."
are beyond specious, obviously. One must take a stand and explain that no, an internet post, even one that is critical of atheists (shock horror!) is in no way more appalling than actual human rights abuses. That is why one bothers.
Ugh. I can't believe I'm doing this.
Again.
What I find "appalling" is that you deliberately and with intent misattribute the source of the atrocities to atheism rather than to its real source, which is totalitarian cultural imperialism.
It is appalling that such violence is continuing, yes. But I am equally appalled, if not more appalled, that you deliberately and with intent distract those who seek to understand it and end it. By such distracting tactics you are in fact contributing to the perpetuation of the violence. And I am equally appalled, if not more appalled, that you do this for selfish ideological reasons rather than logic- and evidence-based reasons.
If you really cared about ending the atrocities, you would honestly seek its true source. But you don't. All you care about is spreading the hateful and ideological lie that atheists commit atrocities against the religious.
And with that, I am officially done.
Don't let TBD sophistry get to you. I think most of the forum can see right through the fallacies, mischaracterizations and dishonesty.
Actually, we have any number of apologists defending it in this thread, whether it be by arguing that it is inconsequential by saying that a post on the internet is "more appalling," or explaining the "logic" behind it, or saying that they were only attacking dissident groups, or by saying that the Chinese were correct to do so because "theocracy, etc" or desperately trying to derail the issue through the most spectacular series of whataboutism that should embarrass a junior high logic class, or by attacking the messenger.
Yeah, and deliberately misrepresenting and mischaracterising my posts is just way beyond the line. I'm done.Don't let TBD sophistry get to you. I think most of the forum can see right through the fallacies, mischaracterizations and dishonesty.
If you think that my post was complaining about you criticising atheists instead of...Hell, we have learned that criticizing atheists is more appalling than violence and putting a million people in a camp.
Great arguments
Have you actually read this statement carefully? Because it doesn't seem to mean what you think it means. You think I am trying to contradict this:
"Yeah, it is. But the idea that you think that this is characteristic of atheism rather than an activity of the totalitarian government of China is even more appalling."
It was posted that my internet post was "more appalling" than putting a million people in a ******* re-education camp.
I know I have zero chance of convincing anyone who would agree with that of anything, and I am totally fine with it.
Because internet posts are more appalling than putting a million people in a ******* camp.
Muslims are persecuted in China because their separatist movement, terrorism included. These particular million Muslims are not obeying their government, stick them in a camp!
Although religious education for children is officially forbidden by law in China, the Communist Party allows Hui Muslims to have their children educated in Islam and attend mosques; the law is enforced for Uyghurs. After secondary education, China allows Hui students to study with an imam. China does not enforce the law against children attending mosques on non-Uyghurs outside Xinjiang. Since the 1980s Islamic private schools (Sino-Arabic schools (中阿學校)) have been permitted by the Chinese government in Muslim areas, excluding Xinjiang because of its separatist sentiment.
