I think you guys are being a bit too hard on TBD. The way he takes Faux Internet Outrage and elevates it to a form of art is truly fascinating. And he manages to do so not just in this thread, but all over the forum, with surgical precision.

I think he deserves some credit for that.

I'm not endorsing China's repressions - but I can see the rationale from the POV of the Leadership.
The brutal re-education of the masses of the Muslim minority is most likely the biggest (by scale) human rights violation in decades.
It is also what is keeping Radical Islamism from gaining a foothold in China.

I wonder if that will help more or hurt more compared to many western countries which accept Muslim immigrants with no restrictions on religious practice.

Didn't Australia do the same thing after they elected an atheist? I'm pretty sure they burned all the churches or filled them with spiders or something.

Ah yes those were some interesting times. The god botherers garrisoned themselves in the churches and armed themselves to the teeth. Nothing happened however and it was business as usual for all religious creeds.

It would be Bob Hawk you are referring to I assume, although there have been many atheists elected to parliament in Australia. The parliament in turn then elects the Prime Minister.

Were they atheist spiders? Because that's what really matters here. And they have big spiders, so it wouldn't take many to discourage the faithful from entering the building....

We filled the churches with spiders first. Then we burned the spiders. It was great.

Honestly, this is just another TBD piss-take. His argument tripped over right at the front doormat and he has been trying to drag it down the street from then on.

Wait you mean pointing out that marxist atheists were surpressing religious people was unfair, slander, hate speech, tripped right out of the box.... which then would have been a post declaring that my opening post was more appalling than putting a million people in detention.
