Lets be clear here. Is it your stance that the fbi received a copy of the server and was able to authenticate or verify crowdstrikes and fusiongps reports? If so, lets see the reports made by the FBI authenticating that.

If you're trying to say that the FBI received a copy of the server, but Comey did not know it, be clear on that also. If you're saying they received it and did nothing, say that as well.

Comey says exactly this. (link to video)

It's my position that Comey stated under oath they did not receive the DNC servers.

And that's true. The FBI received a copy of the server.

By all means, pass on these vital data points to the FBI Director, CIA Director, National Security Adviser, Sec of Homeland Security, and Director of National Intelligence. These Trump appointees somehow operate under the delusion that Russia is the culprit.

I enjoy how you scare-quoted "Russians" up-thread. Careful, you're a half step away from "sheeple".

And that's true. The FBI received a copy of the server.

I've seen several articles stating that an image/copy was made and presented to the FBI. This does not negate Comeys statement. Also, if the FBI has received the server images -- where are the reports related to them? The only reports I've seen were overviews of the crowdstrike and fusiongps findings.

Did the FBI do any independent analyzing or authenticating? It would appear Comey answers that saying they accepted the DNC paid for reports. I'm sure thats SOP in international hacking claims that were alleged to have effected an election by some.

Are you aware that the transfer speeds on the files that were "hacked" is pretty well regarded as not possible overseas? Many IT and former officials have weighed in on that opinion. You're also disregarding the statement from Assange.

Where these investigations lead should be interesting. Both sides cannot be telling the truth. Crowdstrike and Fusiongps reports were both DNC funded.

Here is one of those opinions about the speed of transfer.

Wait, are you seriously trying to claim that no one outside the US has high speed internet? Do you realize how absurdly stupid this is?

So it's your position that James Comey lied under oath when he said they did not receive the DNC server. Got it.

Are you saying he lied under oath when he said the FBI received everything it needed? A server is just a lump of plastic, metal and silicon. It holds no value for IT related forensic investigation.

Wait, are you seriously trying to claim that no one outside the US has high speed internet? Do you realize how absurdly stupid this is?

No. I'm claiming people have tested the transfer speeds from many different points in EU to the USA from backbone to backbone server (directly from isp servers) and were not able to get close to the speeds indicated on the file transfer.

If you have evidence showing these speeds are possible from Russia to East coast USA I'd love to see it.

It does make Comey's statement, and your repeated reference to it, irrelevant.

But whether they checked the copied image of the server themselves is relevant.

Comey said, "We got the forensics from the pros that they hired which -- again, best practice is always to get access to the machines themselves, but this my folks tell me was an appropriate substitute."

Watson said, " The DNC coordinated with the FBI and federal intelligence agencies and provided everything they requested, including copies of DNC servers."

Trumps comments seem intentionally misleading to make it sound fishy while having zero actual evidence. This is standard practice from him.

Do you have evidence?

I'm not saying anyone lied under oath. I showed a video of Comey stating something under oath, that the FBI did not receive the DNC servers and that the instead accepted reports from crowdstrike and fusiongps (reports paid for by DNC) Also the articles indicating the "copy" or image of the server came from the DNC, not from agents collecting it directly from their box. Yes, this matters.

Global internet speeds from 2017.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_Internet_connection_speeds

Note, those are averages, which implies that there are end users who have faster speeds than that in each country.

Since the average for Russia (since that seems to be who we're talking about) is about 2/3rds that of the US I really don't think they would have had an issue.

TBH Russia could still be on dial-up and it wouldn’t matter. The whole notion that connection speed is some type of barrier is BS, nothing more than propaganda meant to manipulate the sheep.

Here is a nice overview of the speed issue. Note the speeds listed in the video, and what you have linked.

No, it doesn't. You may think it does, but that's because you have no idea what you are talking about and blindly believe people who lie to you in order to manipulate you.

Fixed it for you.

Don't believe everything you (selectively) consume.

How do you explain the fact that the FBI Director, CIA Director, National Security Adviser, Sec of Homeland Security, and Director of National Intelligence -- all Trump appointees -- all reached the conclusion that Russia was the culprit? Are they so dense that random bozos who make youtube videos have debunked them?

You didn't read the article I told you to read, did you? The DNC was hacked from servers in Arizona.

The whole premise is stupid. If a hacker doesn’t have sufficient bandwidth they’d simply hijack a local machine to use as an intermediary. In fact they’d probably do that anyway.

Well, yes.

Summarise or, as lomiller says, it can be ignored. I don't want to sit through a video, especially since it makes quoting the argument for rebuttals incredibly difficult.

But, as I even say in the post you quote, since these are averages for end users, there will be places with faster speeds. Significantly faster.

However:

You didn't read the article I told you to read, did you? The DNC was hacked from servers in Arizona.

Yeah.
I missed that part, it has to be said...but this makes the whole thing the usual case of smoke and mirrors.

Not knowing what the figures River is using to argue their point, I didn't want to assume what the figures actually (or could) represent.

Since they seem reluctant to actually post data, does anyone know what they are?

That's some fine sourcing. Consider yourself lucky that the Laughter Chorus has refused to click your link.

It's Russia Today? That's a "nice overview"? Some copies of some on line comments from users who say they know this just couldn't be.

All that's missing is "I am Jeanne from Topeka for my whole live and not from Russia at all. I be working many years time in computering. I am knowing this is not possible because glorious Russian servers still use hamsters on they flywheels."
