"If such a law is passed"

Hmmm, doesn't sound like armed resistance to the tweet to me.

Your internal dialogue ump needs glasses

Hmmm, no response from the big dog. Now that you've called his bluff, looks like the big dog has whimpered his way out of the stadium.

Typical. LMFAO!

I don't think South Korea can publicly express how they feel about this. The United States is literally the line between them and Seoul being devastated within hours by artillery fire (setting aside the possibility of NK nukes being utilized). It's beyond disturbing that any elected official, let alone the one occupying the Oval Office, would consider damaging our relationship with South Korea in a transparent effort to cozy up to North Korea. I mean, damn, talk about not in the US interest! North Korea has nothing we need or want.

But they have what Trump needs and wants. They praise him, that's all he needs and wants so they must be good.

Trump says

" I could show you 100 photos of Mueller and Comey hugging and kissing each other"

Where can I find a single picture of Mueller and Comey hugging and a single photo of them kissing?

What does it have to do with anything?

Cool so now we are deporting Vietnamese in violation of international treaties. Making america white again!
Interesting link. I haven't finished reading it. Was just struck by one of my biggest pet peeves re: immigration journalism. The article cites "tough new immigration policy." I hate that phrase because to me it legitimizes policies that are not so much "tough" as "unjust." It obscures what is actually going on. You can consider yourself "tough on immigration" without really wanting to send back sons of U.S. servicemen who have lived here since age 14. To the extent that there can ever be any consensus re: immigration, people's "coming to America" stories matter in their particulars. Otherwise immigrants are just a "them" you want to send back to where they came from. ... IOW it piques tribalist instincts rather than illuminating an issue. "Thousands of Vietnamese" face deportation? That's a good thing to many Trump supporters.

Trump is not "tough" on immigration. He fast-tracked his wife's parents for legal status, using the "chain immigration" he's vowed to end. She got a special visa because she was "hot," not because she contributes anything vital to the U.S. She may have even violated that visa. But hey, maybe we need more Slovenians just as we need more Norwegians. Just not Asians, Africans or Latin Americans. "Tough" policies are code for racist policies. But if even the Washington Post accepts it as a summary to move a story along it's probably time for me to let go of this editorial obsession.

ETA: This guy is an ex-con but he's a de facto American. He never would have been born except in totally *****-up circumstances that can be laid squarely at the feet of the U.S. government. And it was the U.S. who brought him here to begin with.

Trump Tweets

"Kim Jong Un of North Korea proclaims “unwavering faith in President Trump.” Thank you to Chairman Kim. We will get it done together!"
Declarations of faith in Trump's goodwill, and criticism of Pompeo when no progress is made : I suspect Kim's trying to drive a wedge between them, and is likely to succeed.

Why? Isn't it exactly what we expected?
It's the combination of the fact that the letter was drafted, presumably for signature and delivery; the fact that it was removed by someone so that it would not be signed and delivered; and finally that the occupant of the Oval Office is so ******* addled that he apparently didn't notice and immediately forgot about a huge policy decision.

There is no level on which this story is good, and every level indicates that the current administration is operating in a most insane fashion.

It's one thing to believe this kind of thing is going on, it's another to have the evidence dropped right in front of us. It should make it impossible for anyone to defend this White House.

It's sickening. Not Kim's behavior; Trump's.

I think this is probably the very worst part of the story.

How much more evidence is needed, how much more obvious does it have to be that Trump is unfit to perform his duties?

It's one thing, maybe, to forget that you left half a sandwich on the desk and not really notice that someone came in and cleaned it up, but when you forget you are planning to derail the established trade agreement with one of the U.S.'s largest trading partners and military allies ... that's an entirely different sort of memory problem.

Sadly, I expect that Trump would have less trouble remembering the missing piece of sandwich.

OK, wait a tick! Are we taking Donald's word about what Kim said?
Good point.

He'd be stupid to make it up, but then ...

ETA: But independently of what Kim said, Trump's "We will get it done together!" certainly seems to be giving an enemy aid and comfort.
