John McCain Diagnosed With Brain Cancer

Not at all. The Great Zaganza cracked a joke. I replied in kind, and then acbytesla trolled himself on my reply. You and a couple others got caught up in it.

Hell, I have no idea what you're talking about .....so leave me out of it.

Obama puts the boot in even more - "he despised the politics of bombast, insult and phoney outrage." I wonder how Ivanka feels listening to every single speaker pour polite contempt over her father.

She probably agrees with all of them. I suspect she lost all her illusions about the creature that spawned her when he let Howard Stern call her a nice piece of ass on his show. I can't imagine she's all that pleased about this whole presidency thing. It's leaving her a damaged brand. She was probably perfectly happy to wait for one too many KFC value meals to do daddy in, mother **** her brothers and take over the empire. Now she's stuck with a brand that's only asset is a name now associated with stupidity, dishonesty and complete insanity.

Ahhh ....poor Ivanka, whatever will she do with those millions?

Why would anyone think this? She is daddy's little girl and has devoted her life to earning his approval. She and hubby moved to Washington to join Daddy's official staff. If she was a functioning adult woman, she at least could have said "We're staying in NY to run our stuff." All anyone needs to know about Ivanka is that her last name is Trump.

With all due respect, None of us really know what she is like. She might hate her father yet can't get herself to admit it. I had a domineering a-hole bully of a father. I couldn't admit this to others or myself until after he passed.

Her position in life is a byproduct of her father. She's a Trump. She built her brand as a Trump. Like it or not she doesn't or hasn't had the freedom to tell him off. We can see that Trump doesn't allow for anyone with the possible exception of Putin to have a contradictory position. He turns on anyone with the temerity to challenge him. Do you think he wouldn't do the same to his children?

He very likely would. So what? She and her husband have vast wealth that is not dependent on D. Trump. Unlike many victims of abusive parents, there is nothing he could do to her. And she doesn't have to publicly challenge D. She could just have said "Daddy, this politics thing is your deal. I'm not coming with you." Instead, she helped him get elected, she made excuses during the campaign and after he was elected for his most outrageous behavior, and she moved her family to D.C. to work for him. She's an adult woman, a mother of three. She's responsible for her actions and can be judged by them.

And there's no doubt that Jared is every bit as complicit. He might have said "Gee, I'm not equipped to restructure the government and bring peace to the Mideast." But he didn't.

There is no excuse for any of these people.

Absolutely, particularly asking a Russian dissident who Putin tried to murder -- twice! -- to be one of his pallbearers.

 Nothing subtle there.

I predict it was so bad from Trump's POV that he will pretend to ignore everything, avoid any press questions, give Suckabie some drivel to repeat if/when asked. And then all that seething will leak out for months or even years in any and every back stabbing way Trump can manage.

Perhaps there's a medical reason, but I find President Clinton chewing gum at a memorial service to be less than classy.

Perhaps he got a bit of candy or gum from George W. After all, the man was kind enough to share with Michele during the service!

Even George W Bush had a dig at Trumpski in his eulogy for John McCain. "John could never stand bigots and swaggering despots".

THat's something that'd likely be said regardless. Im not at the funeral, so I have no problem pointing out that he wasn't worth much when it came to anti-LGBT bigotry, but he's never been fond of racists, and he outright hated, among others, Putin long before most in the US did.

It applies to Toupee Fiasco as well, but that's really not McCain's fault so much as it is Fiasco's incredibly poor character.

Some would-be-rich kids just go off on their own to live ordinary lives independent from their narcissist psycho family patriarchs, too.

Ivanka is willingly complicit in her father's cons.

I was surprised to see that his mother was at his funeral. 106 years old. (Born before the Titanic set sail.) I remember her from the 2008 campaign.

It's her father Bob. I couldn't do it with my Dad despite making one hell of a lot more money than he did. Her Dad is one unique bastard. So was my Dad. He knew just what buttons to push. More than anything, I wish I had the courage to tell my old man to **** off...but I didn't. So I can understand if his kids can't. Don't get me wrong. I don't feel sorry for them. But I do kind of get the family dynamics.

I say again that not confronting her father publicly is one thing. Making herself his enabler and servant is something else. That's her own choice, from which she expected to benefit.

I'm sorry about you and your dad. But you didn't go to work for him or help him hurt other people, did you?

You're not wrong. I don't disagree. I just think it's a lot harder then we can understand. She's weak when it comes to him. And he made his children that way.

No. My father in many ways was a very honorable man. He was a union leader. The men in his union really loved him. But he was a bully too. He knew how to put someone in their place. It also was a different time and place. He didnt spare the rod either. I loved him and was terrified of him even when I could have snapped him in two.

We all are products of our parents. My father made his children fear him. Maybe out of his own insecurity. I've grown beyond it as there really is no choice.

As for Donald's kids. I think it's kind of easy being a well adjusted outsider suggesting that his kids should be stronger, but I look at it a little differently. How could they be with that domineering nut job as a father?
