So the man who is uber-concerned about patriotism when it comes to NFL players kneeling during the national anthem and who has said that people who disrespect the American flag should be deported or spend a year in gaol not only doesn't know the words the national anthem himself, but he doesn't even know what the American flag looks like.

Kim had two major aims, been seen as leader on the world stage with the President of the USA treating him as an equal and keeping the Chinese onside. Between the summit and Trump's trade war Kim has fulfilled those goals. Trump walking away from the negotiations now is like refusing to play another hand of poker with someone whose already taken your last chip.

I'm reminded of a scene from the abysmal 1982 Richard Pryor/Jackie Gleason film "The Toy".

"Do you know who you're posing for a picture with, Senator?"
"Why no ... I don't." (looks nervous)
"You're standing next to the Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan."
(Senator panics and runs away, raising his hands to shield his face from the camera)

The difference is that Trump doesn't care who he poses with.

No, the difference is that today many Repubs would throw their arms around him in joyful embrace.
