Oh great, now it's a contest. Who has the better Liberdar?

That was a major point of contention at their national convention 2 years ago.

At least we can all say that if a drug company puts poison in their medicine and kills hundreds of people that is a private matter between the victims and the company, like was the case when Elixir Sulfadimidine came out. Nothing wrong with antifreeze in medicine but oh no the big government had to make the FDA to stop them.

A juror who sat on former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort's case said on Fox News Wednesday night that only one juror prevented a ruling on all 18 counts against Manafort
I really do have to wonder about that one juror...

Manafort was found guilty on 8 of the charges... what was the rational behind blocking some but allowing other charges to go through? Why not either vote 'not guilty' on all of the charges, or vote 'guilty' on everything and thus prevent the whole "lone biased standout" accusation that will ensure? Manafort is likely going to prison for a long time based on the 8 charges anyways (so you're not really saving him by voting not guilty on 10 of the charges.)

Did they really think the case against Manfort was really that weak on the 10 charges? Or were they biased and just miscalculated what his punishment would be on the charges he was convicted on?
Slightly misleading. From that article we don't know that the juror who prevented the rulings was a Trump supporter or not.
True. I think there will be assumptions among many that the holdout WAS a Trump supporter (based on the low information/low intelligence/cult-like attitude surrounding his followers..)
My sensationalist bones really, really, REALLY want there to be a conspiracy around this contrarian Juror, some undue influencing.

Pretty, pretty please?
Fun to think about. But, I think we've established that Trump supporters are pretty much cult-like in their reverence for all things Trump-like, and as such the more likely scenario is that its a lone Trump supporter taking the initiative by themselves.

I don't think I would be allowed on a jury.

Voir dire is not always a rational process. You could slip by if you aren't vociferously honest. I guess what I'm saying is: the one time I would love for you to let all of your thoughts known is if you are ever called for jury duty. Please.

I'm trying to think what questions would get me out.

Dump's kids are up next. I have no doubt there's shenanigans aplenty in that Foundation that the kids are going to sweat over.

Leftists will go after everyone, and I do mean everyone. Your kids. Your former campaign manager. Your deputy campaign manager. Your in-laws. Your personal lawyer. Even the coffee boy.

I've been jettisoned for being a skeptic.

Skeptic juror candidate: "I am aware of manipulative pleas to emotion and will concentrate on the evidence."

Lawyer: "**** this guy. Manipulative pleas to emotion is how lawyering works."

Nah, they'll only go after ones working in his administration. So Tiffany is safe. Rest of the kids and Jared can just chalk that up to the dark side of nepotism.

Yeah, someone should probably stop him from watching Tucker's White Power Hour. Although this feels like a good time to remind people of that goofy look Tucker always has on his face. The link is a bit disturbing, in that it shows people eating fresh mayonnaise.

ETA: it's worth noting that that first tweet was originally linked to (@-ed) a Pompeo fan account, rather than to Sec. Pompeo himself. But yes, this is a standard white supremacist talking point - and hypocritically, they usually suggest that we open the doors to those poor white South Africans who are ever so threatened, thus giving them...um, refuge from a hostile government. Stay tuned for Dolt 45 to do the same - and to not propose kidnapping and caging their children as they enter the supposed murder sprees.

An actual resident of SA, or someone reasonably well-versed in their politics, could likely say something helpful about what's actually going on. Cheeto Benito is not well-versed on anything, however.

I am dubious about the wisdom of land confiscation is S.A. (it just worked great in Zimbabwe) but Trump's tweet is a blatant appeal to bigotry. I wonder if Trump will not openly play the racism card in the mid terms.

Republican Senators are starting to back Trump firing Sessions after the midterms. Trump is continuing to complain about Sessions not being loyal and defending him, and Sessions publicly defended himself.

I think we are seeing something we have not seen since the Whigs in the 1850's: A major political party commiting suicide before our eyes.

They didn't ask me anything that would have disqualified me, so I got picked for a civil suit jury.

One suggestion for Bob: invite one of the parties to the case into the jury room before the trial starts, for donuts.

All of the Jury could end up being dismissed and the case settled. Worked for me (although in my case they just hung out in there uninvited).

I rather think Barron is probably safe too.

Unless they want to lock him up in one of the "totally not a cage" centers they were using for illegal immigrants. You know, just until they can process his parents.

Your Honor, in my defense, the members of the jury were handing out FREE donuts!
