Just brilliant work there Halley (pun intended).

Interest tale Mills told......

[qimg]https://i.imgur.com/Ax027ao.jpg[/qimg]

So we have Mills telling a story in which a major company doesn't believe Hydrinos exist........didn't somebody tell us the Mills had already proved that?

lol

What I found interesting about that quote is, although it seems superficially supportive of the notion that BLP will be rolling in money, it also looks a lot like a quotemine to me. It's completely divorced from any context, and such context could fundamentally alter the meaning. It also almost completely obscures the source, so that even if one spotted the possibility of a quotemine, you'd have essentially zero chance of finding the original quote.

I'm sure we could find examples in this thread of people saying things like "hydrinos would be hailed as the greatest discovery in the history of science", which sounds great, until you notice that we often precede such comments with, "If it were real..." and follow it with "...but so far, there's no reason to believe that it's real."

Well, there it is.

Officially, they have nothing to show skeptics and because the sub-contracted companies are losers and can't do what Mills says they should, ALL WORK on the SunCell™ IS STOPPED possibly forever ...

And of course, that's exactly what we predicted would be the excuse for the failure of the SunCell™, so once again, we win and the BLP believers lose.

...

The market for magic machines is pre-existing for the predator. It's simple economics, really. There is some equilibrium level of magic machine industry with supply being driven by sociopaths and demand being driven by the naive and gullible.

A psychopath enters this industry instead of another depending on market compensation and preferences/skills.

Forecasting his survival based upon any specific claims he's made seems misguided. If there is $1 million a year up for grabs by the gullible and naive in a magic machine industry, then what is important is how well he does competing with other psychopaths and their fake magic machines for that money. PT Barnums maxim: a sucker born every minute. So who is going to collect, that is the only question.

I don't know the industry. But that is really how you would go about analyzing this guy at Brilliant Light Power: why he is doing better than other perpetual motion machine players today.

...

AlaskaBushPilot's post poses what I think are the most interesting questions about BLP. I wince a bit when it is compared with other free energy type scams. From my perspective, it is different, perhaps unique.

As somebody up thread noted, the investors have not been small time guys enticed into investing in or buying to magic carburetors or other such jimcrackery. Mills's pitch from the start has had an aura of technical sophistication which is not easily disproved by normal non-physicist technical people. Perhaps not by design, he has stumbled on to an approach which is almost impossible to disprove without detailed involvement with the testing. He claims that there is more energy produced in short bursts than can be explained by normal physics.

The way to prove that he is wrong or at least to find evidence that he is wrong is to have BLP like devices tested by independent researchers whose goal is to figure out what is going on. Based on his press releases, it looks like he is doing that. But that is not what he does. He creates a canned experiment and then hires somebody to do the same experiments he did. The validation of his experiments consists of just validating that somebody that repeats what he does will get the same results. The subtle difference between the two approaches may be the most significant reason this has gone on so long.

A serious attempt was made to actually figure out what was going on with the BLP devices. Unfortunately, the detailed reports from the two attempts this organization made of the attempts to duplicate the results have been removed from the web as near as I can tell. However, with careful testing aimed at trying to determine what was going on the researchers were not able to replicate Mills reports of excess energy.

The question that many people have that have followed this story for a long time is whether Mills is a true believer in his stuff or not.

There is evidence for both true believer and scammer. One of the most powerful pieces of evidence for scammer was when Mills rented a lab at Harvard and tried to represent that Harvard in some way was part of his research beyond renting out the lab. For me, that showed a consciousness of guilt. But it also falls into the notion of lying for your religion. Religious books are full of lies knowingly created by the authors, but that does not prove the authors were acting in cynical self interest. They may be true believers and see promoting their religion as a high calling even when it involves lying for it.

It seems clear to me that deep down that person knows that this is not going to pay off. Coming up with new excuses for failure while reducing the burn rate to keep BLP afloat a few more years and providing a mechanism for current investors to palm off their stake in the company on greater fools would not be under consideration if you expect BLP to actually succeed.

I especially like how Mills blames an outside company for failing to make a pump operate at a temperature that it was not designed to withstand, neglecting to mention that it was his engineers who selected that pump. And the solution to that problem is to drop further work on that device and start over yet again. How can anyone not see that it was designed to fail from the start?

Perhaps we should guess about what the next quarter report will say......

So BLP is dead in the water but with some new idea coming up but will it be as scientifically invalid as the previous 30 years attempts?

I suspect he may pull the plug but I cannot believe he will actually do so - so what can he do to keep the scam humming?

A surprise technical epiphany?

Hints of secret support from company x or government y?

Go full conspiracy and blame organization x and science in general for stopping his brilliance - but will that help in any way?

Comments; does he fold, run or drop kick?

This was one of the most interesting bits to come out of this story that I've seen. Over the years I've tried to figure out whether it was possible to sell BLP shares and what the market for them might be. I stumbled on a post years ago where somebody was trying to sell his. But I've never found anything remotely as informative as this.

It is interesting who might have written such a document. It doesn't seem like it was written by a BLP employee but it was somebody that was close to BLP. It was also interesting that Mills was trying to get the stock listed some place. I doubt that he will succeed at that. Even for a lesser known exchange there is some due diligence and I doubt that BLP would pass any kind of scrutiny as a credible investment.

Is it possible that BLP wrote the thing and the little bits of reality that it contains were inserted to give it some credibility? The discussion about the nature of the shareholders was interesting as well. So a bunch of old (now) guys bought into the Mills shtick and they are just now beginning to suspect they've been had?

Ever wonder why the people who are actually involved with BLP are believers? The validators have seen with their own eyes what is going on, and they are impressed. Armchair skeptics on the other hand are reaching for more potatoes chips and pop and wanting another person to spit on.

A "serious attempt"
Apparently it wasn't serious enough.

Oh you mean this from https://www.brilliantlightpower.com/wp-content/uploads/papers/EUV-Mechanism-051817.pdf

The continuum radiation band at 10.1 nm and going to longer wavelengths for theoretically predicted transitions of H to lower-energy, so called “hydrino” state H(1/4), was observed only arising from pulsed pinch gas discharges comprising some hydrogen first at BlackLight Power, Inc. (BLP) and reproduced at the Harvard Center for Astrophysics (CfA) by P. Cheimets and P. Daigneau [2–6].

I don't see the problem. Do I need a special skeptic spectrometer to see the problem?

Perhaps you suffer from a comprehension problem.
Mills and BLP continue to hum along, a lean and innovative machine.

Well, there it is.

Officially, they have nothing to show skeptics and because the sub-contracted companies are losers and can't do what Mills says they should, ALL WORK on the SunCell™ IS STOPPED possibly forever and the increasing anger and disappointment of the investors are going to be manipulated to either stay by trying to appeal to their greed by this "secondary market" or whatever the hell, or they are told to sell their shares to the noobs, the newest suckers and GTFO.

All the while...

...there are no Nutrinos™ and there is no working SunCell™ and Mills has stopped all "production" on it indefinitely...

...and is still begging for money and wanting to get more greedy suckers by dangling these secondary markets or whatever in front of their faces to distract from the fact that there are no Nutrinos™ and there is no working SunCell™ and Mills has stopped all "production" on it indefinitely...

...and the shills will be along shortly to cherry-pick the usual Forward Looking Statements and the usual bland reassurances that everything is on track even though there are no Nutrinos™ and there is no working SunCell™...

They're called Hydrinos, not Nutrinos. And the SunCell is coming along fine despite setbacks. It's only the PVC version of the SunCell that is on hold now. The MHD and the simple heater versions of the SunCell are progressing.

I think some skeptics here are losing their mental equilibrium. Understandable I suppose.

...doing nothing but wasting investor money for 30 years - do you count that as being innovative?

Could you list for us all these innovative products we can buy?

Still no product, still no product after thirty years markie....isn't it interesting that you are shilling for this guy?

Don't forget he could be a great in-person salesman, all slickwillie scientific sounding patter does wonders, especially combined with a personal tour and "little show through the top-secret shop where the magic really happens!"

He is much the same in person as you might expect, obnoxious and arrogant. He has to be the center of attention in any setting. He talks about which world problem he is going to solve trivially after he makes his billions (yes, billions). He ties his hydrino technology into whatever the latest news articles are covering. He has a memorized, very lengthy pseudoscientific spiel that doesn't give the listener time to breathe, yet alone interject, but like his book, doesn't hold up to prolonged scrutiny.

But he exudes confidence, and it is that confidence and ability to overwhelm (much like the 150 page quarterly report) that I believe are his main selling points to investors (more like donors at this point).

I think we're on the right track here.

Let's take early examples of perpetual motion machines where they had to be dis-assembled to show concealed belts below the floor: that answered the question "how is he doing it"?

In those cases, the machine is whirring along with wheels spinning and archimedes screws turning. The motion, the thing claimed, is before your eyes. It is sustained. That's the whole point. Those machines had perpetual motion. Supplied by energy in another room concealed from view.

In Mills' case, his machine has no motion. You nudge it, and there is a momentry spark.

His response to children watching the Emperor with no Motion is that the iron was casted wrong, the grease is too heavy, the contractor was supposed to provide liquid wood and gold in a gaseous state.

We can make a spark with a 50 cent lighter but Mills has put together a spark machine that costs a million dollars or whatever. So yes, testing is beyond our means.

Supplying perpetual motion ultimately requires concealing something people will find. You can't let them handle the machine and inspect things too closely. In Mills' case, there's no motion. It doesn't work. So what is there to conceal?

He claims his spark is an "anomaly". Putting people in a prove the negative position.

Let's call it the "Mills Rule": Never complete the machine.

Yes he's a great study in confidence men.

Someone asked earlier if he believes himself. The rule with confidence men is that nobody knows better than they do! (That they're frauds)

What most people do when trying to understand someone else is to project their own personality onto them. That's why it is so hard to believe they're shameless liars. Because most people aren't.

A sociopath doesn't feel emotions like shame and empathy. When they're young, they learn to act like they have those emotions. To manipulate people.

Glib, charming, exuding confidence, lol. We're reading a psychopath manual here.

A sociopath doesn't feel emotions like shame and empathy. When they're young, they learn to act like they have those emotions. To manipulate people.

“Listen, and understand. That terminator is out there. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you...invest in BLP.”

Can I just go on record in agreeing with the GE bod. If BLP can prove hydrinos exist it will be rolling in money, they'll be the Smaug of the energy world.

However I predict a flaw in that plan, Mills will then announce he can change base metal into gold so what's the point of moving on with the power generator.....
