Cont: Brilliant Light Power Going To Market - Free Energy Generator Part 3

It really is amazing how Mills can be "going into production" dozens of times over the last few decades, yet never produce anything, and better yet, people still don't call him on any of it.

He is always about to go into production, but never gets there, and he never sees any consequences.

His next delay in a long line of delays will generate next to no buzz, as always.

His next progress announcement will get full gushing press coverage all over again, as if the past didn't even happen.

As skeptics I would think it incumbent that we try to explain this remarkable level of success.

It is not an area of woo I am very familiar with, one I might call "magic machines". Perpetual motion machines or Free Energy machines. They amount to the same thing.

This wikipedia article is low-brow I know but proves out a point:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_perpetual_motion_machines

We can see this type of hoax has been going on for centuries and chock full of thieving liars concealing belts or drives, lots of Wizard of Oz quackery and noise.

So as skeptics we just have to accept the gullibility and naivite of human nature. And that small populations of humans are also born and shaped into psychopathy, sociopathy, narcissism and machiavellian personalities.

The market for magic machines is pre-existing for the predator. It's simple economics, really. There is some equilibrium level of magic machine industry with supply being driven by sociopaths and demand being driven by the naive and gullible.

A psychopath enters this industry instead of another depending on market compensation and preferences/skills.

Forecasting his survival based upon any specific claims he's made seems misguided. If there is $1 million a year up for grabs by the gullible and naive in a magic machine industry, then what is important is how well he does competing with other psychopaths and their fake magic machines for that money. PT Barnums maxim: a sucker born every minute. So who is going to collect, that is the only question.

I don't know the industry. But that is really how you would go about analyzing this guy at Brilliant Light Power: why he is doing better than other perpetual motion machine players today.

One of them was the motionless electromagnetic generator, that went at least a decade. Yusmar 1, that went a decade. This one is three. Why does he do so well within the industry for magic machines?

So, any guesses on when the next round of excuses will begin?

The 3rd qtr report lists all of the deliverables related to actual devices as belonging to outside vendors with no timetable.

My guess is six months to a year before they blame failure on those vendors and switch to yet another redesign. (Unless Mills sells the building and wraps this all up in the mean time.)

So, any guesses on when the next round of excuses will begin?

My thoroughly unscientific intuition says these "rounds of excuses" happen every ~six months or so ... :D

As Jrhowell noted he mentioned vendors a lot so I think he'll go with blaming them for 're-looking the obvious', recalibration of the calibrator, the engineering equivalent of putting butter on a rock, Barsoomian Jeddaks rebelling and a desperate need for a more elegant design.

My guess is six months to a year before they blame failure on those vendors and switch to yet another redesign. (Unless Mills sells the building and wraps this all up in the mean time.)

Sounds reasonable

Yep he just won't be able to figure out how to use a heat source.....those 18th century engineers...what did they use a heat source for anyway?

markie will have to go shill for the flat earth society, 'I mean just a few more years and we'll have the proof you need.....'

He makes a plausible story that will attract a greedy non-scientist. He makes it sound like its a great techno development about to break. There is lots of smoke, sirens and fireworks but no substance.

Some moron buys this and forks over money and signs a document that warns him that this is experimental and might not work and he is prohibited from suing if it doesn't come to fruition which it never does. They only take wealthy qualified investors who won't notice a few million going bad.

The money flows in, Mills pays everyone nicely and has the company (which he controls) also pay him rent for the site he operates his company at. No matter what happens he gets paid twice....and they don't accomplish much but laugh, and repeat the process.....

Don't forget he could be a great in-person salesman, all slickwillie scientific sounding patter does wonders, especially combined with a personal tour and "little show through the top-secret shop where the magic really happens!"

The sun cell is not a free energy machine, no, it is a proven free money machine for Mills. One that is powered by naivete, hope, dreams, wishes and a liberal mix of stupidity, deliberate or otherwise.

It is plausable that it is also powered by those that are so enlightened and so trusting and so open minded, their brains have fallen out into the sun cell, and hence fueled the legends of Hydrinos that always seem to be so near and yet, so far far away.

Man, a whole lot of effort went into making that update report incomprehensible.

The physics goes over my head anyway, but Mills seriously needs to hire someone who understands how to present information, because half of that report looks like hell.

Of course, It's maybe a sign of serious scientific rigor that your charts are based on the Excel default formatting.

Now there is also the argument that he can't produce a clear, concise, lucid report, because it would draw too much attention to the fact that he hasn't actually produced anything useful yet.

It helps to think of Mills as selling a fad diet and not an invention that never materializes.

Fad diets have four major components:

1. Hope.
2. A mechanism for providing the illusion of success.
3. A mythology to obsess over.
4. A failure mechanism that people make excuses for because of the first three components.

Most free energy scams and kooks just tap into existing free energy mythology. Mills however has gone the extra mile with his tome of science sounding nonsense. His victims obsess over the details of his “theory.” It’s this extensive mythology that allows him to keep selling them hope despite repeated and consistent failure.

I agree with the argument you present in your last statement.

The inept presentation is not a bug, it’s a feature. Poor presentation disguises the flaws in the information. It’s comparable to the poor grammar and spelling in 419 scams. It filters out the people who are too educated or attentive to fall for the scam.

I think this is the biggest factor in his relative success compared to competing free energy devices.

Whatever else we might say about him, he's tireless in producing crap to support his baloney. Who here would be willing to sit down and write literally thousands of pages of techno-mumbo-jumbo? And then re-write it every few years, so his next patent application doesn't just look like an obvious cut-and-paste of his previous one?

And on top of that, he puts effort into building actual devices that actually do things that convince the rubes that his machines are doing what he says they are doing. And not just one device - he builds a new version every few years. Again, how many of us would put in the effort to make one fake reactor, let alone five or ten?

I've never seen a competitor in the free energy market who put even a fraction of this effort into it. Rossi probably comes closest, but even he burned out after a few years of pretending to be a real scientist. Most of them come up with one scam, one time, and then just ride it down the slope of diminishing returns until they fade back into obscurity.

An anonymously authored BrLP shareholder meeting summary

If accurate, this offers an enlightening look into the behind the scenes operations of BLP. The major takeaways for me are that the shareholders are frustrated, but Mills is giving them a way to sell their shares to a new sucker.

EDIT: This is not a funny GIF or sarcasm. This is something that was posted to the BrilliantLightPower subreddit and is being treated as legitimate by the posters there.

And everything remains beholden to those 2 "ifs" - If he can prove hydrinos exist, if he can make a working power source.

I have a sure-fire* way to make you all millionaires. If you want to get in on this opportunity let me know.

*If I can work out how to predict the winning lottery numbers.

Okay I'll be honest, when I saw who posted this I almost didn't click because I assumed it would be a funny gif and I wasn't in the mood for one of those.

Anyway thanks so much for posting that! I'm particularly interested in the "hydrino in a bottle" grey goo. We know no independent lab will ever get a look at it, so it's not that exciting, but I do enjoy talk of new imaginary materials.

I love how the conclusion doesn't really match with all the "ifs" presented earlier in the report.

The lottery analogy is accurate. "If we win the grand prize, and if no one else has a winning ticket, and if we can hide the winnings from the IRS and our exes .... in conclusion using all of our life savings and mortgaging our house to buy lottery tickets offers the best risk/reward profile of any investment ...."

I suspect your odds are better, though, with the lottery than BLP.

I'm suddenly reminded of the people who claimed that the JREF million dollar challenge was a fraud because the money was in the form of bonds and not cash.

Just brilliant work there Halley (pun intended).

Interest tale Mills told......

So we have Mills telling a story in which a major company doesn't believe Hydrinos exist........didn't somebody tell us the Mills had already proved that?

lol

I notice that the 3rd quarter report is missing BLP's traditional "Safe Harbor Statement" with all the "forward looking statements" crap that Mills' Shills like to use for weaseling. They must be getting really close to a working generator!

I almost feel sorry for the guy as he puzzles over why Mills is still struggling to produce evidence of hydrinos to convince the sceptics when there's so much evidence already ...

....preparing to shutting down - I noted in Halley document that it noted that he was firing his longest held employee - his VP of finance......that is interesting - it might be a sign that he is going to fold the operation in a few months or years after he pays himself a bit more I believe.

Well, there it is.

Officially, they have nothing to show skeptics and because the sub-contracted companies are losers and can't do what Mills says they should, ALL WORK on the SunCell™ IS STOPPED possibly forever and the increasing anger and disappointment of the investors are going to be manipulated to either stay by trying to appeal to their greed by this "secondary market" or whatever the hell, or they are told to sell their shares to the noobs, the newest suckers and GTFO.

All the while...

...there are no Nutrinos™ and there is no working SunCell™ and Mills has stopped all "production" on it indefinitely...

...and is still begging for money and wanting to get more greedy suckers by dangling these secondary markets or whatever in front of their faces to distract from the fact that there are no Nutrinos™ and there is no working SunCell™ and Mills has stopped all "production" on it indefinitely...

...and the shills will be along shortly to cherry-pick the usual Forward Looking Statements and the usual bland reassurances that everything is on track even though there are no Nutrinos™ and there is no working SunCell™...
