Where I live (yes, in the U.S.) our grocery stores do not sell liquor, beer, or wine.

The law varies from state to state.

Here in California Grocery stores can get a licence to sell hard liquor no different then what a liquor store gets.
Many out of staters are surprised to see hard liquor being sold in grocery stores. Apparently most states allow beer and wine to be sold in Grocery stores, but not hard liquours.

One commentator made the point that the foundation of Trump's success is not that he persuaded his supporters to believe him, but rather that he told them what they already believed. That's why so many of them keep saying "He talks like a real person," "He tells it like it is," etc. They didn't join him; he joined them. What we recognize as lies are what his supporters believe to be true.

Trump saw that openly appealing to bigotry could win him support.
In fact, I think it's the key to his success.
The important word is openly. I feel that some in the GOP have been using code words and disguised (though often not very well disguised) appeals to bigotry to exploit the "Angry White Man" vote, but Trump saw there was even more to be gained by doing in in the open.
Yes, I firmly believe the key to Trump success is his playing the "Angry White Man " card.
Of course, long term this will cause massive damage to the country, maybe even lead to the most widespread violence since the Civil War, but Donnie does not care as long as he benefits. Man is a sociopath,he has no concern for other people.

SOmebody is going to get killed, period.
More and more I am convinced there is no peaceful way out of this. It is going to come to a test of force someday. Which is why I keep on saying that "progressives" should reconsider their opposition to gun ownership...

We're a bit OT (don't care [emoji14] ) so...

Yeah, the "blue laws" etc vary so widely among the different states it's hard to keep track (and JD being made in a "dry" county is just funny AF). Saw most versions as I traveled and here in Oregon it's the State Licensed stores only for hard liquor. Sadly they're rare, thanks to it being a highly politicized ("who you know"), and very profitable racket and the fact that the word "temperance" is actually in the Control Board's literature (ok... that's more just aggravating, I mean... really guys?).

But as a Cali native I've often joked to others... despite booze in every major grocery store, you can't swing a cat in CA without hitting a bottle shop (aka Liquor Store). :D

I agree with this completely. Those who believe that Christians are being victimized voted Trump. Those that believe illegal immigrants are stealing their jobs and are illegally voting voted Trump. Those that believe all Muslims are terrorists and want to impose Sharia law voted Trump. Those who believe Mexicans are terrorist and rapists voted Trump. Those who believe the terminally ill coal industry can be resurrected voted Trump. Those who wanted huge tax cuts for businesses and the extremely wealthy REALLY voted Trump. Those who cared more about making money than the health of the planet their children will inherit voted Trump.

There is a program now where (Oregon state licensed liquor) is being sold in a separate section of grocery stores which certainly makes it much more convenient than having to go to another store.

The latest tally:

It turns out that’s when the president decided to turn on the spigots of false and misleading claims. As of day 558, he’s made 4,229 Trumpian claims — an increase of 978 in just two months.

That’s an overall average of nearly 7.6 claims a day.

When we first started this project for the president’s first 100 days, he averaged 4.9 claims a day. But the average number of claims per day keeps climbing the longer Trump stays in office. In fact, in June and July, the president averaged 16 claims a day.

More on QAnon:
Believers were front and center at the Florida State Fairgrounds Expo Hall, as The Washington Post reported.

“As the president spoke, a sign rose from the audience. ‘We are Q,’ it read. Another poster displayed text arranged in a ‘Q’ pattern: ‘Where we go one we go all.’ ”

The group, born on Internet message boards such as Reddit and 8Chan, is a close cousin to the Pizzagate conspiracy theory that led a gunman to open fire in a D.C. restaurant last year. The Huffington Post’s Andy Campbell described it as a mishmash: “It’s every conspiracy, all at once, an orchestra tune-up of theories.”

And Giuliani had the gall to call Cohen a "pathological liar"?

Haven't seen that (yet) here in Coos Cty... but I'll be looking.

Cheers. :D

Trump gets mental gratification out of stirring up the crowd. It is dangerous, especially the more stress the Mueller investigation causes him, the more he turns to these rallies to soothe his ego.

He needs the mindless adulation of his base in their stupid MAGA hats and 2 sizes too small Walmart sleeveless T-shirts. I look at those rallies and wonder if most of their last names are McCoy and Hatfield.

The Qanon Trump supporters seem to be pretty much the younger Trump Supporters...the Angry Young White Man crowd, who are trying to make bigotry "hip" and "cool".
Sort of the Skinheads 2.0

I suspect that is because the Liquor Stores probably have a wider selection of booze, whereas the Grocery stores probably only carry the more common big name brands.
If you want a Expensive ,imported single malt whiskey, you probably have to go to a Liquor Store.

And when you look closely at the "Q" conspiracy theories,it amazing how many of the major conspirators are Jewish. ...
I got a feeling that for a lot of Trump supporters, one of the few things they would criticize him for is having a Son In Law who is One Of Those.

Son-in-law? How about daughter.

What really cracks me up about these rallies is that in real life Trump would not want to associate with these people in any way. Nor has he ever associated with them. This is a guy who's life revolves around limousines, private aviation and expensive private golf courses.

True. He wouldn't let most of his base inside one of his golf resorts (except as hired help) much less rent or buy in one of his buildings.
