Trump's legal team preparing a "counter-report" in response to the allegations Mueller will bring against Trump

I suppose the biggest question is - if Trump didn't do anything and the report is being written as we speak, then how will they know exactly what Mueller is going to allege he did? And if they don't know what Mueller is going to allege, how can they offer a counter-argument?
I think the best thing they can do is assume Mueller is competent. In that, I mean he will both 1) uncover stuff that Trump and his campaign people did, and 2) not make false accusations.

So, assuming someone associated with Trump knows of all the illegal stuff they did, they can assume that's pretty much what Mueller will allege they did.

So what happens when Gates testifies? He throws Manafort under the bus? How does that defense hold up? Manafort's word against Gates? But Manafort doesn't testify, so it's the other witnesses indirect testimony against Gates's direct?

The BBC had an interesting documentary on iPlayer with Rich Hall in which he talked about former Presidents. When they were discussing Nixon they had a language expert who observed that people "tell us what they are, not what they aren't", I think this is very applicable to Trump, if you want to know what he's up to just listen to the accusations he throws at others.

I have said that he is the expert on projection.

CNN:

The biggest misconception surrounding the special counsel probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election is that it will likely end in some sort of legal proceeding involving President Donald Trump. It won't -- for a bunch of reasons, the most important of which is that Robert Mueller, who is running the investigation, doesn't seem to believe a sitting President can be indicted.
The much more likely outcome is that Mueller releases the findings from his investigation sometime this fall — and lets the chips, as they relate to Trump, fall where they may. Which means — and this is what Trump and his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani have understood for months — that, ultimately, this isn't a legal fight, it's a public relations one.

But could Trump be indicted after being successfully impeached and removed from office?

Perhaps I should have been clearer - I wonder how they're going to spin the fact that they know what Trump will be accused of if there is allegedly nothing for Mueller to know.

I understand the counter-report has already been written by one "Judge Janine", and published as “Liars, Leakers, and Liberals – The Case Against the Anti-Trump Conspiracy".

You know, I was okay with pardoning Nixon (not to spare Nix, but to spare the rest of us), but I don't think I'd be okay with pardoning Trump if Mueller has some damning evidence against him. Which wouldn't surprise me a bit.

I wasn't. Nixon more than anyone was responsible for the dirty tricks that he and his associates committed. It set a horrible precedent. It was a teachable moment for future leaders.

Trump is a criminal who threatens regularly our republic. I have little doubt that Trump has committed many felonies including conspiring with foreign nationals and government to defraud the United States, Obstruction of Justice. He's perjured himself in court in the past and while he lost the case never was prosecuted for it. I don't think he should go to prison, but he and his heirs should forfeit their fortunes. I know this won't happen, but If there really was justice, it would.

Gawd, I hate the sight of that woman (her voice does her no favors either)(wish to hell she was actually unusual in the FoxSphere).

You should find her picture when you look up the word "harridan".
:(

Unless President Pence immediately pardons him, for which there's a precedent.

That would be tricky depending on what he was shown to have done. Obstruction of Justice a la Nixon is one thing, but if it's shown that Trump was knowingly colluding with the Russians it would be harder for Pence and the GOP to justify a pardon. But, knowing the GOP, it still wouldn't surprise me one single bit for Pence to pardon him. Pence would probably believe God wanted him to pardon His Chosen One.

Pirro is a shrew. It doesn't surprise me at all that she has her own show on FOX. It just goes to show that FOX doesn't discriminate between giving female and male lunatics airtime. They have Hannity and Pirro.

And Ingram and a whole slew more.

Ingram's attack on LeBron James yesterday couldn't have been more racist.

Unless there is a RICO indictment... is that possible, or even plausible?

"Paul Manafort worked for Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole and many other highly prominent and respected political leaders. He worked for me for a very short time. Why didn’t government tell me that he was under investigation. These old charges have nothing to do with Collusion - a Hoax!"

"FBI Agent Peter Strzok (on the Mueller team) should have recused himself on day one. He was out to STOP THE ELECTION OF DONALD TRUMP. He needed an insurance policy. Those are illegal, improper goals, trying to influence the Election. He should never, ever been allowed to........"

".....remain in the FBI while he himself was being investigated. This is a real issue. It won’t go into a Mueller Report because Mueller is going to protect these guys. Mueller has an interest in creating the illusion of objectivity around his investigation.” ALAN DERSHOWITZ....

"..This is a terrible situation and Attorney General Jeff Sessions should stop this Rigged Witch Hunt right now, before it continues to stain our country any further. Bob Mueller is totally conflicted, and his 17 Angry Democrats that are doing his dirty work are a disgrace to USA!"
