What does that mean ?

Here’s the thing: That’s also how The Post’s transcript of the news conference initially read, too. Ours came from Bloomberg Government and ours, too, excluded the first part of the reporters question in which he begins, “President Putin, did you want President Trump to win the election”.

What happened? If you watch the videos, it’s pretty clear. At some point in the middle of that question, there’s a switch between the feed from the reporters and the feed from the translator. In the White House version of the video, you can hear the question being asked very faintly under the woman who is translating saying “president.”

You can hear the same audio in The Post’s feed, starting at about a minute in.

We did not edit the question out. This is the feed we were provided.

That doesn't explain why the video was edited by the WH. :boggled:

I'm being serious, am I missing something ?

Thanks Bob, for answering this.

I'm not surprised you wanted evidence Checkmite. It's *********** unbelievable these idiots would do that given how many people saw the original press conference and how many copies of the original would be easily available online.

It's a sad commentary on the state of the collective mind.

No no, you misunderstand - I absolutely believed it, as soon as I read your post. It's just that I wanted to be able to share direct links to the stuff, not just links to somebody talking about it.

Trump is going ahead full steam on a tariff on all foregin car imports.despite the fact his won Economic advisors think it's a terrible idee.

For a genius businessman, he does not know a lot about business......

He will crash the US Economy. It just a question of when, not if.

FOr all the scandlas, I wonder if it will be stupid economic decisions that will bring him down.

Yeah...so next time we elect a "businessman" president, can we pick one who worked in one of these industries that drives our economy? Clearly, playing in the sandbox that us the hotel business is not adequate preparation.

A lot of businessmen would disagree that Trump is a businessman.......thye consider him a hucksters, a sales person...and it is a truism of business you never want to put a salesman, however good a salesman he might be, in charge of a business.

I saw a blog one time that had a sentence saying something like, "In a just world, Trump would be a used car salesman and Steve Bannon would be the guy who stands in front of the lot in a hot dog suit who goes over to the bathroom at Arby's across the street to masturbate during his breaks."

I found it to be fairly vivid in its imagery.

Could be. That explains why the transcript matches the WH video, but the question is if the audio channel switch was made accidentally live or deliberately in post-production.

Given that a week after being called on it they still haven't fixed it, I would have to say it certainly looks deliberate.

I re-read the WP article and it is saying their transcript came from a Bloomberg "feed," so if it was a live feed rather than a released video, then it was probably accidental.

Putting all this economic power in the hands of one person idiot seems like a poor way to run a government.

Which doesn’t explain why a week later, it hasn’t been fixed.

White House says next Trump-Putin meeting delayed

The follow-up meeting President Donald Trump proposed holding with his Russian counterpart in the fall will no longer happen this year, the White House said on Wednesday.

"The President believes that the next bilateral meeting with President Putin should take place after the Russia witch hunt is over, so we've agreed that it will be after the first of the year," Trump's national security adviser John Bolton said in a statement.

Nonsense, he'll just throw another 20 billion or so at the effected bosses of the companies effected. That way they can pass the pain onto their employees and not have to bear it themselves.

I think this is a case where the Congress needs to take back some of the power they have de facto ceded to the White House. Tariffs, for much of American History, were decided by act of Congress. The ceding of this power to the White House is relatively recent.
The Presidency has become simply too powerful because the Congress likes to pass the buck on tricky questions to the White House.
IMHO every President for the past 50 years has pushed the power of the Presidency farther then it should really go. Trump is just taking it to extremes.

It does not quite work like that.
I think someone is showing their hatred of private business.

Everyone watching heard Putin's answer. Tell me, which other transcripts edit out an answer to an unintelligible question?
