Trump told May to Sue th EU not negotiate

Donald Trump told Theresa May she should sue the EU rather than negotiate, she has told the BBC.

The US president said on Friday at a joint press conference that he had given her a suggestion but she had found it too "brutal".

Asked by the BBC's Andrew Marr what it was he had said, she replied: "He told me I should sue the EU - not go into negotiations."
How May must have enjoyed telling us that, and she doesn't get many lols in her life these days.

I seriously do think that Trump is unravelling ever faster. Soon - months, perhaps even weeks away - there'll be nothing left of him but the dementia.

Ideally it will all come to a head very publicly during one of his campaign ramblings when he wanders off with the fairies and just doesn't come back.

I didn't get the impression that she thought it LOL-worthy - otherwise she would have called it ridiculous rather than brutal.

I don't see it myself, the GOP will continue to be perfectly happy with him.

I like the Laura Bush quote :

“At the end of a luncheon or a dinner, even a banquet set with silver gilt and antique porcelain, [the Queen] has the somewhat outré habit of opening her bag, pulling out a compact and reapplying her lipstick,” she writes.

“When First Lady Laura Bush made a similar cosmetic fix during a Washington ladies’ luncheon, she cheerily commented, ‘The Queen told me it was all right to do it.’”
Laura Bush, what a lady. Best Bush ever.

Trump called it brutal, not May. May didn't have to call it anything, it stands by itself. She didn't even have to reveal it at all in her reply. Saying stuff without revealing anything is her principal skill.

If his minders have to come out and escort him gently from the podium because he's repeating the same story for the third time there'll be no coming back from it.

Ah, I completely misread the article :o

If his minders have to come out and escort him gently from the podium because he's repeating the same story for the third time there'll be no coming back from it.

Why ?

He and his people will claim #FakeNews, his supporters will cheer each repetition of the story enthusiastically and the GOP will explain how passionately he wanted to get his message across.

He's been recycling the same three tweets for months.

I think we're getting close to that point when he mentions his 306 vote electoral win when answering a question where its totally irrelevant to anything.

But the "rally folks" do seem to eat it up.

Excerpt from an interview with Piers Morgan:

Seems to me that the GOP could have President Pence any time they like.
I'm sure they would like it very much, but they need a catastrophic incident to trigger the process - or "coup", as some will describe it.

By any reasonable measure Trump should have put in a place of safety after his speech to the Scouts, of course, but he'll have to fade into undeniable senile confusion in full sight before they can move. Some dribble as well would be desirable.

Seems to me that the GOP could have President Pence any time they like. IMO they're not keen on the idea for some reason. Perhaps it's because he isn't as easy to distract and manipulate.
Perhaps because removing a president would be an awful blow to the party.

Translation:

"I have no friggin clue what kind of products you guys make, but my bosses tell me we need to keep you as an ally so I have to play nice."

I would have loved Morgan to have made some attempt to nail down the President...

“You’re certainly right that most people would probably have trouble describing the difference between “England”, “Great Britain” and “United Kingdom”. Perhaps you can clarify the difference for them?”

But again, it’s like trying to nail Jello to the wall. Trump’s ignorance on topics large and small are surpassed only by his ability to deflect from probing into the depth of that ignorance.
