"Twitter is getting rid of fake accounts at a record pace. Will that include the Failing New York Times and propaganda machine for Amazon, the Washington Post, who constantly quote anonymous sources that, in my opinion, don’t exist - They will both be out of business in 7 years!"
That "in my opinion" is so very un-Trumpian. Someone else must be managing his tweeting. I've felt that way for the past couple of weeks.

Why is he suddenly pulling his punches?

It's not just the "that in my opinion", but the fact that he separated the expression with commas, as someone influenced by a particular stylebook would do. It's TWG (this week's ghost), somewhat more literate than some of his others.

I can't see Trump supporters as anything other than idiots or racists or misogynists (or some combination of the three), and I'm sure they have similar labels for me. The difference is, I'm on the right side.
My Trump-supporting brother and I manage to have enjoyable conversations that don't involve politics.

I have another brother who is left wing (and kind of a conspiracy nut), but we can all talk about baseball, technology or Mom's well-being without any rancor at all. IMO being able to talk to each other is important.

I doubt if I'd seek out a pro-Trump friend, but with family we've found a workaround and are surprisingly comfortable with one another.

Though I did almost get in a fight with my evangelical-ish aunt the other day. She firmly believes that Planned Parenthood sells baby parts and that Hispanic people have tons of kids so they can collect welfare. We both drew back from that, but it annoyed me that she appears not to have a skeptical bone in her body.

"You! Come here. I can't figure out how to connect Twitter killing fake people with..."
"Sir, Twitter is cancelling... err, getting rid of Russian bot... err fake accounts..."
"Whatever. ... connect that to that poopy head Bezos saying bad/mean things..."
"Sir, perhaps something about Amazon and Washington Post...
"Yeah!... and... and... The New York Times, they're like fake news makers always quoting fake sources..."
"Yes Sir, but perhaps rather than repeating 'fake' so much, we can use a big word? How about 'prop-a-gan-da'?"
"Ooh... Yes... and a threat... they'll be out of business... next Wednesday, we'll have a news conference."
"Sir, folks are on to the whole 'next Wednesday conference' thing... How about something by time you leave office?"
"It's my office, I'll never leave!!"
Sir, we can't say that yet... Oh! We'll say in 7 years. That is past the end of your second term, your base will love it.
"Ok, put my style into into, and get it done fast!
"Sir, you can have fast or in your style, but not both."
"Why not, I do all mine fast, and they are genius!"
"Yes, sir. Hand me your phone..."
"nnnnnn...nnnn"
"Let go of it Sir."
"nnnnnn...nnnn"
"Fine Sir, I'll do it on my computer."

Funny - they say exactly the same thing!

If it were just me saying this, that would be one thing, but people on all sides have spoken out now. Never in my lifetime have I seen politicians from a president's own party call the president "unfit" and their own party "cult-like". Nor would I ever have predicted people like George Will and Max Boot would support the Democrats.

US delegates used threats against countries supporting a World Health Agency resolution supporting breast feeding and limiting misleading advertising by formula manufacturers.

A resolution to encourage breast-feeding was expected to be approved quickly and easily by the hundreds of government delegates who gathered this spring in Geneva for the United Nations-affiliated World Health Assembly.

Based on decades of research, the resolution says that mother’s milk is healthiest for children and countries should strive to limit the inaccurate or misleading marketing of breast milk substitutes.

Then the United States delegation, embracing the interests of infant formula manufacturers, upended the deliberations.

American officials sought to water down the resolution by removing language that called on governments to “protect, promote and support breast-feeding” and another passage that called on policymakers to restrict the promotion of food products that many experts say can have deleterious effects on young children.

When that failed, they turned to threats, according to diplomats and government officials who took part in the discussions. Ecuador, which had planned to introduce the measure, was the first to find itself in the cross hairs.

The Americans were blunt: If Ecuador refused to drop the resolution, Washington would unleash punishing trade measures and withdraw crucial military aid. The Ecuadorean government quickly acquiesced.

Health advocates scrambled to find another sponsor for the resolution, but at least a dozen countries, most of them poor nations in Africa and Latin America, backed off, citing fears of retaliation, according to officials from Uruguay, Mexico and the United States.

“What happened was tantamount to blackmail, with the U.S. holding the world hostage and trying to overturn nearly 40 years of consensus on best way to protect infant and young child health,” she said.

But someone stepped in to resist American blackmail and be the hero on the international stage.
In the end, the Americans’ efforts were mostly unsuccessful. It was the Russians who ultimately stepped in to introduce the measure — and the Americans did not threaten them.

They just kinda buried this eye opener in there:

The Americans also sought, unsuccessfully, to thwart a W.H.O. effort aimed at helping poor countries obtain access to lifesaving medicines. Washington, supporting the pharmaceutical industry, has long resisted calls to modify patent laws as a way of increasing drug availability in the developing world, but health advocates say the Trump administration has ratcheted up its opposition to such efforts.

The Federal government has dropped the remaining 39 criminal complaints against Trump-inauguration-day protesters that had been arrested, allegedly for rioting.

Although the court motion does not explain why, the reason the government is dropping the charges is because while they managed to get several guilty pleas in pre-trial situations, none of the cases that have actually been brought to trial so far has resulted in a guilty finding.

I don't know if any number of the trial cases involved juries; although if they did, this would seem to be a case of jury nullification.

And Russia get to be the hero of the hour while the US alienates its allies yet again, over baby formula. Hope Trump at least got a decent campaign contribution out of the manufacturers.

As far as I know, none of them made it to juries. The ones they tried to bring to trial were tossed out, because prosecutors withheld evidence, in the case of journalists their entire argument was "Well, sure, they had video cameras, but they *might* have rioted at some point.", they used heavily edited footage from Project Veritas (you'll remember that place from James O'Keefe's antics which also used heavily edited footage), and so forth.

Basically, it was a mass arrest where they apparently failed to find good evidence to charge anyone with anything that we know of - although those who pleaded guilty may or may not have had clear evidence against them. Also, keep in mind that the sum total property destruction that these particular people were accused of amounted to six busted windows (as I recall, they didn't even try to connect them to the burnt-out limo that people were talking about from around the same time).

You had me fooled (about the meeting, I knew about the death). :(

Yea, trump will no doubt praise Putin for keeping the body count down

Heard an interesting pundit today, instead of aligning the country with the free world, Trump is aligning the country with dictators. I know that's not new but it's the first time I heard it framed as 'aligning the US'.
