Well, yes, people who constantly lie and belittle people in order to cover for abusive bigoted politicians don't belong around decent people. And that includes ol' Smokey Eye.

Frankly, she could have just, you know, not taken the job. It's not like Dolt 45 didn't tell everyone exactly what he was about for the past 30 years now, and she's connected enough through her own father to find other work.

Because in the baker case someone was asking the artist to produce a piece of art counter to their beliefs. The restaurant did not make an artist claim.

She could have resigned as soon as she was asked to tell an untruth that was obvious to everyone. (I'm being exceptionally generous here, and allowing her a pass on telling lies that are not immediately obvious to the audience).

Slight derail - I liked your Okkkcupid reference about the difficulty of getting a date in Washington DC if you are a Trump staffer, I didn't actually spot what was wrong with it, unlike "plentyoffascists"

"Political views" isn't a protected class to begin with, so there's no need for even that sort of argument.

(And neither is "Liar", or "Dolt 45 political appointee".)

Now, most political appointees under previous administrations would be viewed as guests of honor in places like this. These folks should reflect on why they aren't.

It doesn't matter if it is a protected class. That isn't the argument on why one is welcome and one isn't.

Let us not forget that the real victim in the border crisis is Sarah Sanders, because she was made to leave a restaurant.

I'm not 100% sure I'm on board with the owner (although I'm not 100% sure that I'm not, either), but I definitely don't feel any sympathy for her. She wasn't chucked out because of who she is, she was chucked out because of the things she's done, justified, and enabled. If those things end up having a minor impact on her life, rather than just impacts ranging from minor to extremely major on other people's lives, I find it hard to care very much.

Eh, that was just joking.

But yeah, my big problem with comparing them to Nazis is that you hardly need to travel there to see racial violence whipped up by authorities, children separated from families, concentration camps, and the like. Dolt 45 is just the latest in a long line of hatemongers in the US. You can seriously read any number of articles justifying lynch mobs and other forms of bigotry that follow along the exact same lines: "They're dangerous, they're attacking our daughters, here's a bible verse."

I've considered going through them - and Senate speeches against anti-lynching legislation, the Fire Eaters pre-Civil War, George Wallace, the folks pushing the Chinese/Asian Exclusion acts and Operation Wetback, and so forth...but I suspect others have done it already.

THat's because the real motivation is "I don't like gays", and the artistic argument was just a fig leaf. The Red Hen has free to just say "you're an awful person, get out." And I'd eat there if I were in the area (assuming they aren't booked solid), because I'm quite open in my disgust for anyone who works for this administration as a political appointee.

Note, I feel very differently about many of the career folk - and many of them also hate these child abusing bigoted con artists.

If the Democrats wanted a good example as to how they should not resist, they need to look no further than the supine, craven, cowardly, Republicans in the House and Senate, who continually grovel at Trump’s feet.

They need to be swept from office, every last spineless jellyfish of them, for willful failure to do their Constitutional duty. This should be almost automatic for their constituents, of any political persuasion, except that many of them are not doing their civic duty.

She also called out the restaurant by name using her government account, which is against the law. But that’s like a sneeze in the hurricane of corruption and malfeasance that is the Trump administration.

Sanders is a sniveling liar in the service of a liar - a corrupt, Nazi-coddling, spiteful, cowardly, treasonous, incompetent degeanerate. She regularly attacks the free press and generally acts like a smirking, snotty, not-too-bright teenager, and disgraces the Christianity she piously and hypocritically claims to follow. While I don’t want to get into a long string of tit-for-tat exclusions at various businesses, I do believe that people like her should be shunned by all decent Americans.

Oh, and when Joe Biden was refused service by a cafe owner upset about something Obama had said, he didn’t have a poor-me whingefest, especially not using government resources.

Someone needs to tell Trump that his own party is running congress these days, not democrats.

If I was the owner of the Red Hen, I'd put out a press release saying Sanders wasn't asked to leave, but the restaurant, which is a fantastic restaurant, the best reastaurant in the history of restaurants, was more full than any previous restaurant has ever been, so she couldn't get in to the restaurant, which is a great restaurant, many people say it is the best restaurant.

Trump does say "we" are doing a far better job, so that presumably means him and Congress.


This "far better job" doesn't seem to have prevented an immmigration crisis and associated crime wave developing on Trump's watch. Sad.
