Your side will certainly continue to use this even though Obama, your hero, did exactly the same thing. Trump may have bumped it up a notch, but that’s the great thing about the wall. It will eliminate a lot of this nonsense.

Put that in perspective. It's not a good thing for Trump or the GOP.

In the latest self-identification poll at Gallup, 26% of the country identify as Republicans. That 55% doesn't compare, even remotely, to the mind-numbed self-styled Republicans who generically support Trump at 80%.

.55 x .26 is 14.3% of the country who support this policy. Coincidentally, that's the same number who responded "No. America will never be ready for a black president." It's the hard core xenophobes and bigots.

Any nostalgia fans remember the reverse-whammy meme the rightwing pundits were selling three weeks ago (before The Great Orange Turd stepped in it at the G7, at the border and in Singapore).... "Ha ha the blue wave is receding!" Funny how no one mentions that because they're too busy covering Donnie's flank for three consecutive super-blunders.

Do they really think Congress Critters want to run on "Imprison Brown Kids, **** the Canadians, Germans, and French, Say isn't that little mass-murdering Korean guy swell".

And yesterday, Donnie's adding a new one..... "Oh, yea???!!!! You charge us duty on our stuff because we put illegal tariffs in place? Well, we're going to charge you more duty on even more stuff!"

Imagine if Mexico was prosperous. Imagine not caring about that border? Imagine driving to Acapulco and Mexico City? I've driven all over Europe and you would hardly notice going from one country to another. It was great.

As soon as Trump gets the money from Mexico he can build a wall. Meanwhile people are traversing 1,000 miles overland, so they're used to barriers.

I'd be shocked if a fair number aren't coming in by boat.

Actually yes, NAFTA was a huge part in this. Both H W Bush and Clinton talked about helping these other countries. The thinking was exactly as you said it.

Mexico is the way it is because it doesn’t have our constitution, and is incredibly corrupt. Your Der Fuhrer Obama Also thought it necessary to cage them. Once again you don’t know what you’re talking about.

I’m not even interested in caging them, I’d rather they come here legally, unlike you.

You're always going to be disadvantaged by your efforts to find out the truth of these claims. In the other thread someone said 10K out of 12K kids were showing up with adults other than a relative. No citation, but if one is provided I will gladly read it and evaluate it. Rather than hold my breath I did some Googling and found out that 10K unaccompanied minors had shown up. I like knowing the facts because ... well, because I hate being wrong, and I want to fix that.

Research takes more time than just passing on a claim though.
