The Trump Presidency (Act V - The One Where Everybody Dies)

In the 1950's the political demigods and loonies made their grab for personal power by asking "Are you now or have you ever been a Communist?" "Communist" (for those too young to remember) also included, "Did you ever flirt with life-wing ideology when you were young, or join an organization later found to be linked to the Communist Party? Have you ever said anything that could be interpreted as even slightly socialistic in tone? Were you pro-Soviet in their war with Nazi-Germany before Pearl Harbor, after which being pro-Soviet became okay (for a few years)?" People lived in fear of accusation. Lives were ruined and the freedoms of speech and of association upon we pride ourselves were trashed. Almost anyone and any idea, no matter how laudable, could discredited if a political hit man was simply able to associate it in any way with "Communism."

Today Trump and his colleagues have grabbed on to exactly the same approach but have crawled even lower, "Are you now or have you ever been... a Democrat?" If you are or were (or even if you are not- truth doesn't matter of course) then you are an enemy of God and of the USA, and anything you do or say is evil.

My God, what have we as a nation and as a civilization become??? Doesn't it frighten even the Trump apologists on this Forum? It frightens me. I love this country, and what is being done to it by Trump and his lackeys is disgusting.

I am really looking forward to the OIG report, considering that the meeting between Wray and McCabe about that report caused McCabe to immediately announce his retirement.

But he took “notes” which he made “memos” about.

I'm beginning to wonder if the Democrats have any strategists at all. One would think that if Trump is firing key people on a regular basis, and may even have his guns set on Meuller, that they'd be planning a response. So if Meuller is fired, they'd already have contacts lined up with various talk shows, motions to present in Congress that could tie it up for days, tweets ready to go out, and press releases on file that could be edited and sent very quickly. The net result being that if Meuller is fired, there would be a very large and co-ordinated response.

Indeed. It's long past time for Drumpf to be asked, "Have you no decency, sir?" But alas, alack and lackaday, there is not sufficient backbone in all of the GOP Congress to build a single spine to fortify a one of that supine lot to take a principled and public stand.

As far as the federal government goes, that's the job of the House and Senate committees. The fact that they were ready to slap down Nunes' garbage strongly suggests that they're doing what they can, but if Nunes and Ryan are both willing to go down as awful Representatives and people in exchange for gutting the social safety net or...whatever the hell Nunes is doing, then there's limits to what they can do.

As I said before, as long as a good majority of white voters were happy to hand their governments to corrupt abusers over and over just because the various Fox and AM Radio bigots and frat boys said to, then...well, those voters bear a part of the responsibility for the mess they find themselves in as well.

Like any bully, the fact that Trump has not had a reckoning for his actions (as of yet) only serves to prove to him that he can keep pushing further and further and not face repercussions.

He's getting flustered

"Why does the Mueller team have 13 hardened Democrats, some big Crooked Hillary supporters, and Zero Republicans? Another Dem recently added...does anyone think this is fair? And yet, there is NO COLLUSION!"

Apart from those that are Republicans of course.
And what's with "hardened"?

WA Po: Trump said Mueller’s team has ‘13 hardened Democrats.’ Here are the facts.
The president is ignoring one important fact: Robert S. Mueller III, who heads the team, is a longtime registered Republican. He was appointed by another Republican, Rod J. Rosenstein, whom Trump nominated as deputy attorney general. But publicly available voter registration information shows that 13 of the 17 members of Mueller's team have previously registered as Democrats, while four had no affiliation or their affiliation could not be found.

Nine of the 17 made political donations to Democrats, their contributions totaling more than $57,000. The majority came from one person, who also contributed to Republicans. Six donated to Hillary Clinton, Trump's opponent in the 2016 race.

I would wager the FBI leans right given law enforcement in general does.

These are the attorneys not the FBI agents assigned to the case. Who the lawyers are doesn't change the facts of the case. Trump is panicking because now they are asking for his business documents about Russia. His heart is beating faster and he's scared. The telltale heart.
