The Trump Presidency (Act V - The One Where Everybody Dies)

Remember all those Job-killing regulations that Trump has been trying to remove? Well, turns out that they may not be as detrimental to the economy as Trump and the republicans were claiming.

From: https://www.vox.com/energy-and-environment/2018/3/6/17077330/trump-regulatory-agenda-omb
...Trump’s own administration, specifically the (nonpartisan, at least for now) White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB), just released its annual report on that very subject.
...
OMB gathered data and analysis on “major” federal regulations (those with $100 million or more in economic impact) between 2006 and 2016:
-Aggregate benefits: $219 to $695 billion
-Aggregate costs: $59 to $88 billion
By even the most conservative estimate, the benefits of Obama’s regulations wildly outweighed the costs.
...
The OMB report has a long section looking into the employment effects of environmental regulations, assessing several studies and literature reviews....there may be local and temporary employment effects from environmental regulations, either positive or negative, but at the aggregate national level, such regulations simply aren’t a significant factor in employment.

Can someone explain to me this joke from the Academy Awards...

“Jordan is only the first person in 90 years to be nominated for directing, writing and best picture for his debut film,” he said. “None other than President Trump called ‘Get Out’ the best first three-quarters of a movie this year.”

I have not seen the film. I know Jordan is black.

As the joke was told, I thought Kimmel misspoke and meant to say “three-fifths”, which I would have got.

Without providing spoilers there are important developments about 3/4 through the film highlighting a specific racist issue.

It will cost a billion, at least:
it is one of the most dangerous locations and requires the best communications with the highest security.
Russia and others will do everything they can to get a bug build into the building.
Unless of course you are willing to compromise on security - I'm sure Putin will put Trump in contact with a construction company that will do it at bargain prices...

Maybe he's going to get Putin to pay for it.

He's got a better chance of that than he does of getting Mexico to pay for his wall.

Ryan splits with Trump over trade War.

Republican congressional leaders on Tuesday stepped up efforts to convince President Trump to abandon plans for global tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, warning the protectionist move would damage the economy and muddle the party’s message in the run-up to November’s midterm elections.

I can see the embassy move costing only $250k if all you do is swap the signs from the old one to the existing Jerusalem consulate and move the ambassador's king-size bed. He probably already had quarters in the consulate as well anyhow.

How has he "negotiated" any price? They're not moving the embassy! They are moving the ambassador and a few hand-picked personnel into the Consular section they currently have in Anona. They haven't even found a site and are considering several possibilities in Anona (a district in Jerusalem).

Trump's idea of "negotiating" is that someone says X and you say, "No way, we'll give you X/4." They cave in and say, "Well, golly Mr. Tinyhands we're certainly going to do it for below cost because you promised us prime tee time at Trump National on days not ending in a Y and you have such a sterling record of timely remittance. Deal!"

The move of the entire embassy (it looks like a four story building) is a quarter mil.... just for the furnishings, paperwork, supplies. (Bibi probably knows a "nice Jewish Boy with Truck" who'll cut 'em a deal.) I moved a quarter of that size of an office two decades ago and that cost $150,000.

The building of the new embassy and purchase of land? Who knows? If BiBi has an in-law in the real estate business, it could be two billion by the time both countries' kleptocrats finish. Oooh, maybe they could put (((Jared))) on the job! Qatar would probably finance it.

Porn star Stormy Daniels is now suing The Dunce to overturn the non-disclosure agreement she signed in exchange for $130,000 in cash.
Stormy Daniels, the porn star who had said she had an affair with President Trump when he was just a real-estate tycoon, is now suing him. Stephanie Clifford, whose porn name is Stormy Daniels, maintains that the “hush agreement” she signed, reportedly for big money, is invalid, NBC News reported. The reason? Mr. Trump himself never signed it. (Washington Times)

I think the reaction from Republicans to the latest sordid incident from the garbage they helped elect president will be, "So what? He was boinking a porn star and he paid her to shut her up. Okay, and...?" Really sad to see what the GOP is becoming. And even sadder to contemplate, in the long run the real loser is the United States. :(

That's the problem with blackmail, the blackmailer usually comes back for more money. She wants to sell the story while the story is hot. Good for her (in this case).

Since banging a porn star cannot damage his reputation in any possible way he was a damn fool to pay her in the first place. Same as with the Russian hooker allegations (if there's any truth to them). As long as he's not gay or a pedophile his worshipers couldn't care less. Complete waste of money.
