The Trump Presidency (Act V - The One Where Everybody Dies)

Any chance he meant $250,000,000?

My current house cost more than $250,000 and it definitely wouldn't work as even a temporary embassy.

I suppose that's also a way to manage the deficit increase as a result of the tax cuts - arbitrarily reduce it by a factor of 1,000 when referring to it

I'm amazed Trump hasn't suffocated himself yet given Obama's pro-breathing stance.

The Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) announced last week that it will now consider all permits for importing elephant trophies from African nations on a “case-by-case basis," breaking from President Trump's earlier promises to maintain an Obama-era ban on the practice.

In a formal memorandum issued on Thursday, FWS said it will withdraw its 2017 Endangered Species Act (ESA) findings for trophies of African elephants from Zimbabwe and Zambia, “effective immediately.”

I wonder what this was about?

I suspect there might be an element of "Let's say it will cost £1 billion, then a mere $250 million will seem like a bargain."

or even

"Say it's $1 billion, then the President can boast about knocking it down to $250 million, when that's all we wanted in the first place."

It will cost a billion, at least:
it is one of the most dangerous locations and requires the best communications with the highest security.
Russia and others will do everything they can to get a bug build into the building.
Unless of course you are willing to compromise on security - I'm sure Putin will put Trump in contact with a construction company that will do it at bargain prices...

We are splitting the cost with the Russians but it is coming pre bugged. What when Putin asks for bugging an embassy what is Trump supposed to do refuse him? Just cuts down the steps on getting the info to the russians anyway and doesn't bug the president with every little thing.

Can someone explain to me this joke from the Academy Awards...

“Jordan is only the first person in 90 years to be nominated for directing, writing and best picture for his debut film,” he said. “None other than President Trump called ‘Get Out’ the best first three-quarters of a movie this year.”

I have not seen the film. I know Jordan is black.

As the joke was told, I thought Kimmel misspoke and meant to say “three-fifths”, which I would have got.

Didn't they already try this with sanctions on Russia? The Republicans are cowards, which is why Trump got away with ignoring the veto-proof legislation.

No, that was a thing they voted for which Trump has not acted on. I'm talking about legislation that blocks Trump for which if he acts the courts will override his action.

However, someone who is harmed and can show they have standing can take Trump to court to force him to act on the sanctions. That would be a mess however when dictator Trump defies the court.

Things may be coming to a head soon though. There is now the Steele information that Putin nixed Romney's appointment and we got Tillerson instead. That's very specific Russian control over Trump.

Why would he? It's not like Nunberg has any leverage.
It was drunk (and probably high) ranting. If you watched all four interviews (I saw three and didn't see every minute of them) he drifted throughout. By the last one he was still pouting about, "why do I have to do this", like a kid might whine about having to clean his room.

By the end of the interviews he was wavering but kept slipping back into the whining.

Pardoning will not help him get out of a subpoena. If anything it would be unwise for Trump, because then he can not refuse to answer questions because of the 5th amendment.

He said he was given immunity, that takes the 5th off the table. He was really angry Trump referred to him as a low level employee, but maybe that's not so far from the truth.

The way he kept waving the subpoena around and whining about the work he was going to have to do to retrieve the emails, whining about taking more of his time in the GJ hearing, and about his mounting legal costs, I'm not so sure he was at risk of charges.

Well he will get the charges now.

As for the Tweet censorship, it wasn't the first time:
On October 3, 2016 Twitter deliberately “shadowbanned” (censored) 32 of Trump’s tweets, plus it deleted one other tweet.

When Twitter shadowbanned Trump’s tweets, the general public can no longer see any of the tweets, and only users who replied or re-tweeted the tweet’s can see said censored tweet — or if one knows the URL/web address of the tweet, one can see said censored tweet.
I don't see anything about any newly censored Tweets.

I suppose this means Trump's family and friends get to shoot Elephants and bring their body parts back.
