The Trump Presidency (Act V - The One Where Everybody Dies)

Only if they win the primary.

Yes, I understand that. But the people running in that primary don't actually have to represent the values of the party at all, which seems really weird to me. Doesn't it seem odd to you?

They party does get to choose, that is what primaries are about. The whole party not just the party bosses. Why shouldn't the average republican get a say in who represents their party?

They evidently didn't get a choice in this particular instance. Unless it's your contention that Republicans want to be represented by a literal Nazi.

It seems if universal healthcare was so great, you wouldn't have to March to save it and get it more money.

Utterly missing the point that Trump was being misleading about the purpose of the march and the relative performance of the two systems despite chronic underfunding of the NHS in recent years.

The stealth privatisation by the Tories has undermined it considerably, as has under-funding. This is not an argument against universal healthcare, it's an argument against under-funding and privatising it.

The long and the short of it is that the UK's healthcare system is better than the US's by almost any metric you want to compare them by - and that includes expenditure per person and government expenditure per person. If you want to believe that that makes it inferior to the US's, then knock yourself out.

He better not, if they give him an MRI it will probably bankrupt him. ;)

In a speech live on TV Trump just called the Democrats 'Unamerican' and Treasonous' for not clapping and cheering him at the SOTU speech.

What a guy.

Sorry, 750.. erm 760... 770...

It is like he is trying to make is goal of being a dictator ever more clear and see if the republicans blink. THey won't of course.

Still descending over 1500 down over 6%

Trump not saying a word about it.

Lol, brilliant speech in Ohio. Just claimed "I'm non-braggadocious."

It was fun while it lasted, Trumpsters. Time to sell up and move on:
http://money.cnn.com/2018/02/05/investing/dow-jones-trump-stocks-markets/index.html

The Payday Loan (”tax cut”) will be due before Trump’s time is up. Trump will achieve nothing in 3 years and after the 2018 elections the barely Republican congress will have no votes to pass anything. Each budget will be a struggle.

We might waste money on an impeachment that would only reveal Trump to be a selfish vain old guy.

Which I'm saying is really, really weird.

How so? He can still run as an independent, can't he?

It seems incredibly strange to me that a political party can be forced into being represented by absolutely anybody, no matter what their views are or whether any of them align even slightly with the party they want to represent.

Why would that be a bad thing? The parties nominate a candidate, anybody who wants to run as an independent can run as an independent, and then the public decide who they want representing them.
He does represent their views. They are able to just shrug and not deny it now.

Perhaps the "treason" digression was thrown in to fill the gap where he was intending to brag about the Dow Jones Index.

We'll hear no more about it until he starts bragging about how fast it's recovering, fastest recovery ever, trust me.

The White House has apparently bragged that "the fundamentals are good". Rule No 1 : when politicians start saying "the fundamentals are good", sell.
