He is the only one who is running, and they can't find any other name to put on the ballet. This is one of those usually uncontested districts.

I'd love to see someone holding anti-trump, anti-modern-gop positions run against him.

Make the repuvlicans choose between the anti-trumper or the nazi.

They let him have his phone back

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

Little Adam Schiff, who is desperate to run for higher office, is one of the biggest liars and leakers in Washington, right up there with Comey, Warner, Brennan and Clapper! Adam leaves closed committee hearings to illegally leak confidential information. Must be stopped!

Trump might be right on this. That committee leaks like crazy.

I love WikiLeaks.

Perhaps Trump should worry more about his own problems. Like giving data to Russians. Or holding important meetings with security concerns in public at his resort.

I think we'll see a strong and visible reaction if he ever fires Mueller. Alternately, if the final result of Mueller's investigation is really damning and Congress ignores it, I think that will spark something major.

Or nothing. I wouldn't be surprised if nothing happens regardless.

Isn't that cause for a slander or libel suit? I remember for legal reasons Randi couldn't call Sylvia Browne a "fraud", because the burden of proof would be on him. But he could say she was full of ****.

The nations (nominally) friendly with the US should haul in the US Ambassadors (where the post is filled) and demand an explanation of what the hell is going on in Crazy Town. Then deliver a note to send back expressing profound misgivings. Heck, unfriendly nations should do the same. To me this wouldn't be meddling in the US' domestic affairs, for it must give her allies the jitters to see a Great Power descending into isolation, instability and distrustfulness.

But in the last election they blocked him from running due to some technicality of how he'd started running, and ran nobody. My question is why do they need a technicality in order to prevent him from representing them? Why can't they just say "no, he does't represent our values, and we don't want him running for us"? Why is that not legal?

Because of state and party rules. In general making it easier for the party bosses to block people from running is undemocratic. So the party bosses can not just say "Him he is the candidate". So you have primaries and such. With no one running against him in the primary he won.

So Trump tweeted about healthcare:

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/960486144818450432

The Democrats are pushing for Universal HealthCare while thousands of people are marching in the UK because their U system is going broke and not working. Dems want to greatly raise taxes for really bad and non-personal medical care. No thanks!

Several small issues with this. As this BBC article pointed out:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-42943768

In his tweet he also said "thousands of people are marching" about it.
This was believed to be a reference to a Save the NHS march on Downing Street on Saturday demanding more funding for the health service.

Yes they were marching in support of the NHS.

Oh and lets not forget UK health care has consistently outperformed the US on just about every metric:

http://www.commonwealthfund.org/publications/fund-reports/2014/jun/mirror-mirror

The United States health care system is the most expensive in the world, but this report and prior editions consistently show the U.S. underperforms relative to other countries on most dimensions of performance. Among the 11 nations studied in this report—Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States—the U.S. ranks last, as it did in the 2010, 2007, 2006, and 2004 editions of Mirror, Mirror.

Hopefully Trump can afford the operation to remove his foot from his mouth, again.

Which I'm saying is really, really weird.

How so? He can still run as an independent, can't he?

It seems incredibly strange to me that a political party can be forced into being represented by absolutely anybody, no matter what their views are or whether any of them align even slightly with the party they want to represent.

So the party bosses can not just say "Him he is the candidate".

Why would that be a bad thing? The parties nominate a candidate, anybody who wants to run as an independent can run as an independent, and then the public decide who they want representing them.

It seems if universal healthcare was so great, you wouldn't have to March to save it and get it more money.

Only if they win the primary. If it was important enough they could put up someone else to challenge him in the primary.

They party does get to choose, that is what primaries are about. The whole party not just the party bosses. Why shouldn't the average republican get a say in who represents their party?
